Why Did Wonho Withdraw From MONSTA X?

In late 2019, Wonho became embroiled in a marijuana controversy after an individual had claimed to have witnessed Wonho and his former friend Jung Da Eun smoking marijuana back in 2013.

The two had appeared on Comedy TV's variety program Ulzzang Shidae prior to Wonho's debut. Wonho and Jung Da Eun had also lived together, but weren't dating in 2012.

Dispatch had reported that the individual who raised the allegations reportedly witnessed Wonho and Jung Da Eun smoking in a dressing room in October 2013. The individual then claimed to have heard the two talking about marijuana.

Following the allegations, the police launched an investigation over Wonho's alleged drug usage, with the idol being fully cooperative the entire time.

In March 2020, Wonho had been cleared of all the charges against him, with the allegations made by the individual and Jung Da Eun found to be false.

But despite Wonho being cleared of the allegations, he had already withdrawn from MONSTA X not long after his marijuana controversy came to be in October 2019.
