BLACKPINK's 'Pink Venom' Becomes Second-Fastest K-pop Girl Group MV to Reach THIS Feat

On Aug. 27 at 2:11 a.m. KST, the number of views for BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" music video crossed 200 million views on YouTube. It took the MV only seven days and 13 hours to hit the mark after its release on Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. KST.

As it only took a little over the week to achieve the feat, "Pink Venom" has now overtaken PSY's "That That" as the fastest K-pop music video in 2020 to surpass 200 million views. To recall, "That That" took one month and four days to garner the said number of views.

In addition to that, BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" is also now the second-fastest K-pop girl group MV- and second-fastest female MV- in history to hit 200 million views. It now comes behind the group's own song "How You Like That" with a record of seven days.

The K-pop girl group MV that previously held the record is also BLACKPINK's release, which is their collaboration song "Ice Cream" with Selena Gomez. "Ice Cream" attained the milestone in 10 days and 13 hours.

The female MV that was initially the second-fastest is Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" with a record of seven days and 15 hours.

On the top 10 list of fastest female music videos to gain 200 million views, BLACKPINK now has a total of five entries as a group: "How You Like That" (No. 1), "Pink Venom" (No. 2), "Ice Cream" (No. 5 with 10 days and 13 hours), "Kill This Love" (No. 6 with 11 days and 17 hours), and "Lovesick Girls" (No. 9 with 22.9 days).

Including a solo music video of a member, BLACKPINK has six entries overall as Lisa's "LALISA" sits at No. 7 with 13 days and 14 hours.

"Pink Venom" is now BLACKPINK's 11th group MV to exceed 200 million views, following "BOOMBAYAH," "Whistle," "Playing with Fire," "DDU-DU DDU-DU," "As If It's Your Last," "STAY," "Ice Cream" "How You Like That," "Kill This Love," and "Lovesick Girls."

According to YG Entertainment, around the release date of BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" MV on Aug. 19, the girl group's number of subscribers on Youtube increased to nearly 2.3 million at once, and now they have over 79 million subscribers. They will soon become the first artist in the world to reach 80 million YouTube subscribers.

BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" Takes Home 2nd Music Show Trophy

In other news, BLACKPINK has now taken home two music show trophies for "Pink Venom."

On the Aug. 25 episode of Mnet's "M Countdown," Pink Venom was a nominee for first place together with The Boyz's "WHISPER." "Pink Venom" was able to take the win after earning a total of 7,951 points.

Additionally, the song continues to rank high on Korean music charts. BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" currently sits at No. 1 on Genie, No. 2 on FLO, No. 2 on MelOn Top 100, and No. 2 on Bugs as of 8 a.m. KST on Aug. 27.
