[Trigger Warning: Mentions of Depression, Mental Illness and Panic Disorder]

f(x) Luna, who recently confessed about her struggles with her mental health, updated fans on her current status. Here's what the singer-musical actress said.

f(x) Luna Encourages Herself With Message About Mental Health Battle

Luna, who is originally known for debuting as f(x) under SM Entertainment, confessed that she's having a hard time mentally.

On August 29, the idol turned musical star particularly caught the attention of K-pop fans after posting a lengthy message on her Instagram.

She started by looking back at her past, saying:

"When the moment comes when I'm so afraid of being alone because I love (being) 'together,' I feel like the time has come when I really have to stand up on my own.

I can’t write everything down because this night is filled with a lot of thoughts, but the time comes to really focus on myself. I've been sick in my heart for so long. I must stand up now. I'll endure any obstacles. I can do it."

The "Electric Shock" singer then expressed her desire to change thanks to people who are with her, adding:

"I'm not alone anymore, so I'm going to fight and overcome for those who're 'together' with me!"

In the open letter to herself, Luna also hinted at the pressure she experienced as a K-pop idol starting at a very young age.

"I'm a singer and an actress. It hasn't changed, but everything wasn't smooth maybe because the beginning was an idol.

I was too young and not good enough to break 'prejudice'. It may not be prejudice, but it could have been true.

I had to try harder, do better and be more perfect and be stronger to meet their standards. Now I want to acknowledge myself rather than ask for someone's approval."

As she concluded her message, she said:

"I was always a person who loved me so much and did her best to acknowledge me. While I was an idol, I tried to work harder to death because I wanted to be recognized by others. I'm not going to live like that anymore."

Luna Confesses She Still Suffers

On August 24, the "Hot Summer" singer confessed that she's still suffering from her mental illness, including depression and panic disorder. She initially confessed in 2020 that she have the latter after losing two friends.

In the now-deleted post, Luna stated:

"It's been difficult and painful to be on stage for the past three years because of depression and panic disorder. My hands and feet trembled and seizures occurred frequently, so I couldn't even move. But thanks to my family and fans who waited for me, I made a comeback again. It's not completely cured yet, but I'm living a good life."
