Oh My Girl Hyojung Workout Routine: Here's How She Lost 6kg in 3 Months Ahead of Debut

Back in March 2020, Oh My Girl guested on "Happy Together 4." It was prior to the group's comeback with their seventh EP "Nonstop."

At one point during the show, Hyojung shared that she went on a strict diet as a trainee. She explained that the reason behind it is she was told she looks like an ahjumma (meaning "aunt" in Korean), even though she was only 20 years old at that time.

"I heard harsh comments when I was a trainee. I was only 20 years old when I was told, 'Hyojung, I think you need to diet,'" the "Dolphin" singer said.

She was naturally surprised to hear that and wasted no time in losing weight. After just three months, she was able to achieve her target weight.

"I worked hard on my diet and fitness for three months, so I lost 6kg and came to make my debut," the idol shared.

When asked about her daily workout routine, Oh My Girl Hyojung revealed that she does a variety of exercises, including Pilates. She specified that she does Pilates four times a week in the morning. Sometimes, she goes biking or visits the gym to lift weights instead of doing Pilates.

For starters, Pilates is a low impact exercise consisting of controlled movements that improves one's balance, flexibility, core strength, mobility, and even mood. Many female K-pop idols have turned to this type of exercise in the past few years to lose weight.

While Oh My Girl Hyojung also mentioned about following a diet plan. She didn't mention what particular foods she consumed to shed some weight in three months. But her workout routine may already be a good help to you if you want to stay fit.

Oh My Girl Hyojung's Recent Activities

This past March, Hyojung participated in Oh My Girl's comeback with their second studio album "Real Love," which features the title track of the same name. This album marks the group's last release with member Jiho, who left the band and WM Entertainment in May.

"Real Love" became the band's second best-selling album in the first week as it sold over 54,000 copies. Their highest record to date is more than 69,000 copies set by "Dear OHMYGIRL" in 2021.

In addition, the title song "Real Love" earned them a music show trophy on the April 5 episode of "The Show."

On Aug. 14, Oh My Girl Banhana, the group's subunit composing of Hyojung, Arin, and Yubin, released their remake of Saekjongi's "Love Is...," the title song off of the band's first studio album, as part of the "Re:born Project." A special live performance video for the track was also uploaded on the same day.
