Who Is Former APRIL Lee Jinsol and What's Her Last Activity as Girl Group Member?

Lee Jinsol is a South Korean singer who is well-known as one of the original members of APRIL before a few lineup changes were made. She was one of the main vocalists and the maknae of the group.

Since their debut in August 2015, APRIL has been active in the music industry, both in Korea and in Japan. On July 29, 2020, they released their special single album called "Hello Summer". The album comprises the title track "Now or Never" and the B-side song "Paradise."

Following the album release, APRIL went on a hiatus to let the members carry out their individual activities. While everything was going smoothly for the girls, the whole band was caught up in a bullying scandal with former member Lee Hyunjoo.

A netizen claiming to be Hyunjoo's brother made a post on an online community and asserted that Hyunjoo left the band not because she wanted to study acting but because her co-members bullied her.

As a result, the K-pop girl group was heavily criticized, with the members being removed from acting roles and endorsement deals. APRIL then unfortunately disbanded afterward.

Why Did APRIL Disband?

On Jan. 28, DSP Media announced that the agency and APRIL have reached a conclusion of disbanding the group after a lengthy deliberation and debate. They explained that the members have decided to go their separate ways.

The final lineup of the group prior to disbandment was composed of Naeun, Chaekhyung, Jinsol, Yena, Chaewon, and Rachel.

On April 26, DSP Media revealed that their exclusive contract with Lee Jinsol had come to an end.

Seven months following APRIL's disbandment, Lee Jinsol is now an artist under a new agency and she plans to carry out activities in various fields. She is particularly managed by STORY&PLUS, which houses Lee Jung Won, Kim Sang Woo, Han Seo In, and more.

STORY&PLUS announced on July 28 that they signed an exclusive contract with former APRIL Jinsol, who the company described as a celebrity with "excellent vocal skills" and has "versatile charms."

The agency also said, "In the future, we plan to provide full support to expand her scope of activities to different fields, including music activities."

Jinsol commented through the company, "I'm pleased to announce this good news. I'm going to show myself working hard in various fields in the future, so please give me lots of attention and support."
