On September 1 KST, K-pop Radar's monthly charts for the most viewed K-pop MVs on the video-streaming platform Youtube has been updated to reflect the data garnered for August 2022. From BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom" to IVE's "After LIKE," these K-pop music videos garnered the most views on Youtube in August 2022!

BLACKPINK's 'Pink Venom' is the Most Viewed K-pop Music Video in August 2022

Taking over the spot to become the most viewed K-pop music video for the month of August is BLACKPINK's newest single "Pink Venom."

According to K-pop Radar on September 1, "Pink Venom" had amassed a total of 230,774,170 views on its music video on Youtube in the month of August alone, showing an impressive number following its release on August 19.

"Pink Venom" marks the four-piece girl group's first music release as a whole group in over two years following "Lovesick Girls" in 2020, and is part of BLACKPINK's upcoming second studio album "BORN PINK," which will be released this coming September 16 KST.

The song, which is a mix of dance, EDM, hip-hop, and Korean traditional instruments, was written and composed by YG Entertainment's in-house producer Teddy Park, along with Danny Chung, R.Tee, 24, and Ido. Lyrically, "Pink Venom" showcases BLACKPINK's confidence and their identity as both sweet and deadly.

Following the release of their hit new single, "Pink Venom" attracted worldwide success. In just 24 hours, the music video amassed over 90.4 million views, surpassing their previous record of 86.3 million views with "How You Like That." Thus, "Pink Venom" now holds the title for most viewed music video by a female artist in a single day.

In addition, "Pink Venom" also recorded the biggest music video premiere in 2022, and the third biggest in Youtube history. By 29 hours after its release, the music video already amassed 100 million views, becoming the fastest music video by a female artist to hit the mark.

IVE's 'After LIKE' is the Second Most Viewed K-pop Music Video in August 2022

Following behind BLACKPINK with the second most viewed K-pop music for the month of August is rookie girl group IVE and their latest release "After LIKE."

"After LIKE" was released just recently on August 22, and had since then amassed 70,698,437 views on Youtube, continuing to show their skyrocketing popularity as a fourth generation group since their debut in December 2021.

"After LIKE" came just over four months after they released their second single album "Love Dive" back in April of this year. The latest single is part of IVE's third single album "After LIKE," which also includes their other single "My Satisfaction."

The song is of the pop and house genre, which samples Gloria Gayner's "I Will Survive." The song was written by Song Ji Eum and Mommy Son, with participation from IVE member Rei. Ryan S. Jhun, Iselin Solheim, André Jensen, and Anders Nilsen took part in the composition.
