TWICE has broken a historic record on the Hanteo Chart with "BETWEEN 1&2" first-week sales. Keep on reading to know what the group's new achievement is.
TWICE's 'BETWEEN 1&2' Sales in First Week Becomes 4th Highest Among Girl Group Albums in Hanteo History
On Aug. 26, TWICE made their highly-anticipated comeback with their 11th mini-album "BETWEEN 1&2." The EP features the title track "Talk that Talk" and six other new songs.
"BETWEEN 1&2" is the ninesome's first music release in Korea in nine months since their third studio album "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" was released last November.

On Sept. 1, it was revealed that "BETWEEN 1&2" sold 532,622 total copies on the Hanteo Chart in its first week of release (Aug. 26 to Sept. 1)- breaking TWICE's previous record of 332,416 copies (set by their 2020 mini-album "MORE&MORE") by selling 200,000 copies more.
This marks the first time that TWICE sold more than half a million copies in just one week, displaying their further rise in popularity.
Previously, "BETWEEN 1&2" smashed the girl group's first-day sales record on Hanteo by selling 288,836 copies. This record initially belonged to "MORE & MORE," which sold 274,472 copies on June 1, 2020.

Apart from breaking the group's personal record, TWICE's "BETWEEN 1&2" first-week sales are now the fourth-highest figure among K-pop girl group albums in Hanteo history. It has surpassed ITZY's "CHECKMATE," which only sold 472,395 copies this past July.
The three K-pop girl group albums to sell the most copies are aespa's "Girls" (1.12 million copies), IVE's "After LIKE" (924,363 copies), and BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" (689,066 copies).
At present, aespa, IVE, BLACKPINK, and TWICE are the only girl groups to record more than 500,000 sales in the first week.

TWICE's 'BETWEEN 1&2' Predicted to Debut in Top 3 of Billboard 200
In other news, TWICE's "BETWEEN 1&2" is also showing great popularity in the United States.
According to Chart Data, "BETWEEN 1&2" sold almost 95,000 units in the US in the first week. With that, the mini-album is expected to debut at No. 3 on Billboard 200 next week. This would mark TWICE's biggest debut so far.

Last year, TWICE's "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" also landed at No. 3 on BIllboard 200 with a total of 66,00 equivalent album units, achieving their highest rank on the chart since their debut. It also became the only third release by any female K-pop artist to chart in the top 10, following BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM" and their own album "Taste of Love."
"Formula of Love: O+T=<3" went on to become the second K-pop girl group album to last for eight weeks on Billboard 200, joining BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM."
Meanwhile, TWICE's "Talk that Talk" rose to No. 5 on this week's Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart after debuting at No. 6 last week. The song also entered at No. 31 on Billboard Japan Hot 100 with only two days of tracking.
In South Korea, "Talk that Talk" is charting in five music charts ast of 9 a.m. KST. The track sits at No. 6 on Bugs, No. 21 on VIBE, No. 25 on Genie, No. 26 on FLO, and No. 31 on MelOn.
