How Did Shindong Lose Weight? Here's the Juvis Diet the Super Junior Member Used
Super Junior Shindong is known to be chubby since his debut back in 2005. And he has been receiving negative comments from netizens regarding his weight, since one of the beauty standards in Korea is having a slim figure.
After 14 years of being in the entertainment industry, Shindong decided to go on an intense diet in October 2019. The reason is not only because of the harsh comments he has been getting, but also because his doctor told him that he could die in his 40s if he didn't start losing weight.

Everyone knows that weighing too much is unhealthy and puts you at risk of hypertension or brain stroke.
After hearing that from his doctor, he applied to a diet company and tried Juvis diet. Three months from the start of his diet, the "Sorry Sorry" singer was able to lose 30kg. He originally weighed 116kg and after losing some pounds, he was 86kg in January 2020.
He went on to lose 7kg as of March 2020, and weighed 78kg. His target weight when he teamed up with the weight loss program agency was 79kg.
So how did Shindong lose weight? Well, at the diet consulting firm JUVIS, they offer a cellulite treatment using professional devices that are available at their centers. One of those devices is a heating machine, while the other is a lymphatic and muscular massaging device.

Then, JUVIS would force its clients to avoid eating too much and eating too recklessly. They incorporate the unique "Six Bites" system into the service. Most clients are advised to stick with a 100% Korean-style diet, which is eating six bites of ssam (veggie wrap) per meal.
Lastly, JUVIS matches their clients with "managers," who will keep track of statistics and progress. These managers observe their clients' attendance, meal logs, numbers, and even moods.

Apart from the Juvis diet, Super Junior Shindong also has other methods to lose weight. There are three key important factors in his weight loss regimen.
First, you have to eat an equal amount of food for each meal, you need to pace your meals throughout the day, and you have to get a good night's sleep.
The Super Junior member said during his radio show appearance:
"You have to eat an equal amount of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I lose a lot of weight while sleeping. It's important for me to lose weight in the morning, maintain it, lose more in the following day, maintain it, lose more, and continue like that.

But I sleep early and get up early. I sleep around 11pm and wake up at 7am. They say it's important to sleep at least 8 hours. It's good to have 5 hours in between breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sleep."
While most K-pop idols who lose weight accompany their diet plan with a workout session, Super Junior Shindong surprisingly didn't work out at all. Part of the reason was he wanted to show other people that you can lose weight even without having to exercise.
He also said during his radio show appearance that while he is aware that anyone can lose weight faster if they exercise, he doesn't want people to get suspicious if he loses weight too fast. Hence, he decided to skip working out.
