TWICE Scores Multiple Historic Feats as 'BETWEEN 1&2' Debuts on Billboard 200

TWICE has achieved several historic feats on Billboard 200 as their 11th mini-album "BETWEEN 1&2" debuts on the U.S. album chart.

TWICE on Billboard 200: 'BETWEEN 1&2' Debuts, Gives Girl Group New Titles

On Sept. 4 local time, Billboard officially announced that TWICE's "BETWEEN 1&2" had debuted at No. 3 on its Top 200 Albums chart, a weekly chart that ranks the most popular albums in the United States.

Because of this, TWICE has become the first K-pop girl group in history to land three different albums in the top 10 of Billboard 200. They are also now the first female K-pop artist to chart two albums in the top 3. Before "BETWEEN 1&2," the girl group's studio album "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" debuted at No. 3 last year.

Other than that, TWICE is now the first female K-pop act to have three top 10 albums (the first two albums were "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" and "Taste of Love"). They have also extended their record as the female K-pop artist with the most chart entries on Billboard 200.

"BETWEEN 1&2" is the ninesome's fifth entry, following "MORE & MORE," "Eyes wide open," "Taste of Love," and "Formula of Love: O+T=<3."

Billboard stated that according to Luminate (formerly MRC Data), TWICE's "BETWEEN 1&2" has set the group's new career-high in terms of first-week sales in the U.S., selling a total of 100,000 equivalent album units during the week ending on Sept. 1.

The total figure comprises 94,000 pure album sales (another best record for the group) and 6,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units- which converts to 9.18 million on-demand audio streams over the course of the said week.

TWICE's "BETWEEN 1&2" is now the only second album by a K-pop girl group in history to sell 100,000 units in the U.S. after BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM." These two Korean acts are also the only female groups to debut on Billboard 200 with 100,000 units sold since Danity Kane (with "Welcome to the Dollhouse") in 2008.

Furthermore, "BETWEEN 1&2" is now the K-pop girl group album with the biggest pure sales in the U.S. in history. This record previously belonged to BLACKPINK's "THE ALBUM," which had 81,000 traditional album sales.

Congratulations to TWICE on their multiple historic achievements!

In other news, TWICE's "BETWEEN 1&2" also attained an impressive milestone on Spotify. The mini-album accumulated a total of 27.7 million streams in its first week of release- breaking the record for the biggest first-week streams of any female K-pop album released in 2022.

The record was previously held by the group's own member Nayeon, who recorded 23.6 million streams with her solo debut album "IM NAYEON."
