About Former "Girls Planet 99" Contestant Choi Yeyoung

Choi Yeyoung is a South Korean trainee born on May 31, 2000. She was first introduced to the public through Mnet's girl group survival show "Girls Planet 999" in 2021. She was revealed alongside other participating trainees through a prologue trailer. Her official profile for the program was then released on July 17.

Yeyoung was one of the trainees representing Blockberry Creative, the agency managing LOONA. Her motto on "Girls Planet 999" was "I am a singing flying-squirrel dreaming to make myself proud."

Before joining Blockberry Creative, she used to train under The Black Label and Polaris Entertainment.

Before the competition began, the contestants were asked to dance the "Girls Planet 999" signal song titled "O.O.O (Over&Over&Over)" and the Masters will evaluate them. Choi Yeyoung impressively ranked second in the K-Group (bested only by Kim Dayeon).

During the planet demo stage, she was part of the team that made a dance cover of K/DA's Pop/Stars. Her members were Kim Suyeon and Kim Dayeon.

Regarding the Cells she was part of, Yeyoung's original cell was with Ito Miyu and Wen Zhe. She was then included in a cell (called Thrillien) with Kubo Reina and Chen Hsin Wei.

During the Connect Mission, Choi was included in "FIESTA" Team 1 who won against "FIESTA" Team 2. Then, during the Combination Mission, she performed Girls' Generation Taeyeon's "All About You" together with Huang Xing Qiao and Sakurai Miu.

When "Girls Planet 999" episode 8 was broadcasted on Sept. 24, Choi Yeyoung was announced as one of the trainees unfortunately eliminated, with her final rank being K17.

Several of the former "Girls Planet 999" contestants who were eliminated from the show eventually left their agency. But unlike them, Choi Yeyoung is still a trainee under Blockberry Creative.

This past May, it was rumored that Yeyoung will soon debut as a member of Blockberry Creative's new girl group this 2022.

On May 28, Twitter user @BEBEZSource made a tweet showing the schedules for comebacks and debuts of Blockberry Creative artists in 2022. BEBEZ could be seen among the listings, and it says there that they will debut this year.

In addition to that, Choi has been active on social media using the accounts named @blockberry_bebez, along with two of her co-trainees. The word "BEBEZ" can be seen in the handle, and so many speculated that the three trainees will debut as BEBEZ members.

BEBEZ would be the first girl group to debut under Blockberrry Creative since LOONA was launched in 2018.

To date, the company has yet to officially announce the debut of their new girl group.
