On Sept. 6, Mydaily reported that Red Velvet member Seulgi will release her solo album next month.

In response to the news, a representative from SM Entertainment said, "Seulgi is preparing for her first solo album with the aim of an October release. Please show lots of interest."

Seulgi will be the third Red Velvet member to debut as a solo artist, following Wendy and Joy.

Seulgi first debuted as a member of Red Velvet in 2014, and the girl group has released numerous hits since then including "Happiness," "Dumb Dumb," "Red Flavor," "Peek-A-Boo," "Psycho," and more.

In 2019, she sang the original soundtrack for "The Crowned Clown" titled "Always," and in 2020, she formed a subunit with her co-member Irene and dropped the mini-album "Monster."

Because of her previous music releases, attention is focused on what kind of song Seulgi is working on this time.

On the online community TheQoo, fans are rejoicing as they have been waiting for Red Velvet Seulgi's solo debut. Some are also expressing their curiosity about her concept.

Red Velvet Seulgi's Recent Activities

In the first half of the year, Seulgi returned to the music scene multiple times. On Jan. 3, she debuted as a member of SM Entertainment's project girl group GOT the beat. The group first unveiled the performance of their debut song "Step Back" at SMTOWN LIve 2022: SMCU Express @ Kwangya" on Jan. 1.

GOT the beat then made their broadcast debut on Mnet's "M Countdown" on Jan. 27. They took home their first music show trophy on SBS's "Inkigayo" three days later. The project group went on to win their second trophy on "M Countdown" and their third trophy on "Inkigayo" again.

Then, on March 21, Seulgi alongside her fellow Red Velvet members dropped their new group album "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm." This album marked their first comeback in seven months since their sixth EP "Queendom" arrived in August 2021.

"The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm" currently holds the quintet's record for highest first-week sales on the Hanteo Chart. It sold a total of 443,922 copies from March 21 to 27, surpassing their previous record of 231,100 set by "Queendom."

On the April 1 episode of "Music Bank," Red Velvet bagged their first trophy for "Feel My Rhythm" after earning a total of 8,416 points.
