In many K-pop groups, one or two members stand out the most for their visuals. But THIS rookie girl group is different. They recently became a hot topic for having no "visual hole," as proven by their recent photos.

NewJeans Unveils First Hanbok Photos + Elle Korea x Chanel Photoshoot

On September 5, hanbok photos of the new girl group NewJeans, comprised of Minji Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein, have been released ahead of Chuseok.

On the group's official social media platforms, the photos were posted with the caption, "Coming Soon," drawing attention and curiosity on what kind of content the quintet prepared for their fans.

In particular, the photos flaunted NewJeans members' visuals dressed in Hanbok, a traditional Korean costume.

Since their debut in July, the group has been establishing trendy image. But this time, NewJeans boasted their elegant and pure charms quite different from the appearance they showed on the stage.

On the same day, Elle Korea also dropped more photos of NewJeans taken during their photoshoot for the magazine, in partnership with luxury brand Chanel.

In the article, the five-member group was personally praised by the editor, introducing Newjeans as next-generation "Human Chanel."

Upon the released photos, fans expressed rave reactions online. People stated that it is the first time that the group's photos in Hanbok were seen.

On top of this fact, people were also surprised by the visuals of the members and left comments, such as:

In regards to their Chanel photos, NewJeans was continuously praised for digesting any concept. This time, the members flaunted their vibrant and colorful images wearing trendy hip outfits.

There are comments such as:

  • "Their vibes are different from each other, so I'm curious about them once they pursue individual images."

On Twitter, even those who just saw NewJeans for the first time were extremely amazed how a group can have members where everyone stands out in their own ways.

Others also named NewJeans as a group with "no visual hole," a term often used in K-pop to describe someone who doesn't stand out much in terms of looks. Sometimes, this also contains the negative connotation that someone who is a "visual hole," decreases the overall image of the group.

On the other hand, NewJeans which debuted in July is the first girl group launched by Min Hee Jin x ADOR, a sub-label under HYBE.

As soon as they released their triple-title track, "Attention," "Hype Boy" and "Cookie," the quintet immediately earned popularity around the world, and are rapidly emerging as the next-generation K-pop representative girl group.
