Former (G)-IDLE Soojin, who left the girl group due to school bullying accusations, revealed the result of the lawsuit she filed against the accuser. Here's what she said.
Soojin Loses Criminal Complaint Against School Bullying Accuser
After about a year of a legal battle with the first person who accused Soojin as a school violence perpetrator, the female idol, unfortunately, failed to regain her honor.
On September 8, Chosun Ilbo released an exclusive report updating on the status of the legal battle between Soojin and her exposer.
According to reports, the "HWAA" singer filed a complaint against the person who claimed that she bullied her sister intending to prove her innocence.
However, the verdict states that no charge will be given to the said accuser and that the case will end as is. The idol's legal representative, Choi Seung Hwan, said in an official statement:
"Seo Soojin filed a criminal complaint against the exposer to end the controversy through legal procedures, but after several discussions, the court decided not to proceed with any charges."
When Soojin's side complained of unfairness, the law still didn't support her.
Despite this, Seo Soojin avowed her clean conscience through her legal representative, stressing:
"Seo Soojin couldn't admit or apologize because she didn't assault or extort money from the exposer (sister). Seo Soojin received 'not guilty' results from the School Violence Countermeasures Committee when she was in the first grade of middle school and was recognized as a victim of abuse by her seniors.
Seo Soojin has never been disciplined for school violence. If she committed acts of assault, verbal abuse, and extortion that are hard to believe that she is a middle school student as many reporters claim through social media, she would have been referred to the School Violence Committee again for investigation and disciplinary action.
Seo Soojin was involved in an unsavory incident in middle school and disagreed with other students, but she never committed school violence. In the case, there is no evidence to confirm the facts other than the conflicting statements."
In the lawyer's statement, it was also clarified that the police didn't file for an appeal since it could be true to the exposer's point of view and there's no intention to be false. However, it was emphasized that the accusations have NO EVIDENCE.
Seo Soojin Expresses Apology To Fans
Lastly, Seo Soojin through the lawyer expressed her sincere apology, saying:
"Seo Soojin is very careful to announce her position, but I think it is the least reason to say courage to the fans who have supported her and those who have been hurt and offended by her actions."
“Seo Soojin is very keenly aware that there is an emotional wound on the exposer's side regardless of the truthfulness of the facts asserted by the exposer. We offer a sincere apology to everyone, to the fans who cared for Seo Soojin, and to all of you who must have felt disappointed."
Meanwhile, in February last year, netizen A, who claims to be Seo Soojin's middle school alumni older sister, complained of damage by posting a message on the online community saying, "My younger sister was assaulted at school by Seo Soojin."
She also claimed, "The kid who stole my sister's money and bullied her becomes an idol and comes out shamelessly on TV."
