SEVENTEEN Mingyu & S.Coups Supposedly Spotted Clubbing in the US
On September 9, a user on the online community forum Pann Nate posted, "Is it true that SEVENTEEN went to the club?" In the post, the user asked if it was true that SEVENTEEN was seen clubbing while in the United States.
On Twitter, a user named Jason revealed that he had partied with SEVENTEEN members Mingy and S.Coups in the United States. The idols were reportedly clubbing in a club called Decades.
Jason revealed that Mingyu smacked his butt while they partied. This was because the Twitter user was "twerking" on his girlfriend. After asking permission from the man's girlfriend, Mingyu started hyping up Jason.
Jason reportedly also had a dance-off with Mingyu and S.Coups. The two idols also bought drinks for the man's girlfriend and her friends. According to Jason, the two were very wholesome.
Korean Internet Users Have Mixed Opinions on SEVENTEEN Mingyu & S.Coups Clubbing
After news that the two idols were spotted clubbing in the United States made its rounds, netizens shared mixed opinions over the situation.
Many did not care that the idols were going to a club. S.Coups is 27 years old, and Mingyu is 25, meaning they are more than old enough to party and drink when they want to. Others stated it is normal for people to have fun during their free time and expressed amusement over Mingyu smacking someone's butt.
Comments supporting Mingyu and S.Coups read,
"They are adults. Why is it such a big deal to go to a club?"
"They probably just wanted a drink after their concert. They didn't even fool around with girls."
"They are living such a fun life. Going to a club while also performing concerts."
"Why did Mingyu hit the guy's butt? LOL, he is so funny."
"Can't they go have fun during their free time?"
"It is not like they are underage or anything, so it is not a big deal they went to a club."
However, others were not pleased. On August 19, it was reported that Mingyu tested positive for COVID-19 and would self-quarantine in the United States. On August 24, it was reported that he recovered.
Though he recovered, people thought it was reckless that he was going out clubbing even though his quarantine period ended recently. Additionally, many criticized the idol for sitting out of concerts but willingly going out to party.
It was also reported that they were seen clubbing 12 hours before their concert, which many found irresponsible.
Comments criticizing Mingyu & S.Coups read,
"They are legendary in terms of controversies for male idols. They are the legendary quiet ones."
"Why would Kim Mingyu smack someone's butt? Why is this important? He hasn't even stopped self-quarantining for that long, and he is already with S.Coups 12 hours before their concert looking for clubs. The fans all worried about their schedules but turned out they didn't even go to bars, but clubs."
"They must live comfortable lives."
"That idol is on an international tour, caught COVID, and sat out of the concert just to get witnessed at a club the moment he's off quarantining. Isn't this considered a scandal? There are even pictures of it. If this were another group, they would now be at the top of the trending page for fooling the fans, but I'm shocked to see how quiet Pann is towards this group."
