One way the industry debuts K-pop groups are through survival shows. Many survival shows have birthed top idols and entertainers. Here are six K-pop idols that ranked first place on survival shows.

1. Jeon Somi

Jeon Somi ranked number one in the finale episode of Mnet's 2016 survival show, "Produce 101." This show is considered the catalyst of all subsequent survival shows, sparking the trend in the industry.

For ranking number one, Jeon Somi debuted as the center of I.O.I. The project group and sub-unit were active for less than a year.

2. fromis_9 Jisun

Roh Jisun ranked first place in the finale episode of Mnet's 2017 survival show, "Idol School."

After ranking first place, Jisun debuted as the center, lead dancer, and vocalist of fromis_9. The group has been active since 2018.

3. ENHYPEN Jungwon

Jungwon ranked number one in the finale episode of CJ E&M and HYBE Corporation's 2020 survival show "I-LAND."

After ranking first place, Jungwon debuted as the leader of ENHYPEN. Despite being in the first place, Heeseung is actually the center of the group. On "I-LAND," Heeseung ranked fifth place in the finale.

Kim Chaehyun ranked first place in the finale episode of Mnet's 2021 survival show "Girls Planet 999."
