BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK" has broken the historic record of highest first-week sales for any K-pop girl group on the Hanteo chart. They have also achieved the eighth-biggest first-week sales of any K-pop group in history.
BLACKPINK's 'BORN PINK' First Week Sales Become Highest Among K-pop Girl Groups
Last week, BLACKPINK made their long-awaited return with their second full album "BORN PINK" on Sept. 16 - and by the end of the day, the quartet already sold one million copies on the Hanteo Chart. They are the first female artist to ever record one million album sales on the first day alone.
Now, on Sept. 22, it was revealed that BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK" had gone on to sell a remarkable total of 1,542,950 copies in the first week of its release (Sept. 16 to 22). This makes the quartet the first K-pop girl group and female artist to reach 1.5 million album sales within its first week.

Notably, BLACKPINK's previous first-week sales record on Hanteo (set by their first full album "THE ALBUM" in 2020) was 689,066 copies - meaning that the group has more than doubled their personal record.
What's more impressive is that BLACKPINK has now set a new record for the highest first-week sales by any K-pop girl group and female K-pop artist in Hanteo history. This record previously belonged to aespa, who sold a total of 1,126,068 copies with their second mini-album "Girls" last July.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK" is now the K-pop album with the eighth-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history. The only albums that have managed to attain highest first-week sales so far are BTS' "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," BTS' "Proof," BTS' "BE," BTS' "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA," SEVENTEEN's "Face the Sun," BTS' "Butter," and NCT 127's "2 Baddies."
Congratulations to BLACKPINK on their historic achievement!
BLACKPINK Scores New Milestone on Global Digital Artist Rankings
In other news, BLACKPINK has achieved an incredible feat on the Global Digital Artist chart.
On Sept. 18, BLACKPINK dethroned streaming legend Bad Bunny with their latest studio album "BORN PINK."

According to the data released for the latest Global Digital Artist chart (dated Sept. 18), the "Shut Down" singers ranked first in global views on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Shazam, apart from Korean playlists.
BLACKPINK is the first girl group to hit No. 1 on Global Digital Artist chart since October 2020, which is coincidentally the time they were atop of the rankings following the release of their first full album "THE ALBUM."
On the Global Digital Artist chart dated Sept. 22, BLACKPINK now ranks at No. 2, coming behind Bad Bunny. It is worth noting that the girl group is the only second artist to surpass 4,000 total points on that day, along with Bad Bunny.
Congratulations again to the girls!
