Jessica Jung Uploads Vlog Updating Fans on Her Status in China
On September 26, Jessica Jung took the internet by storm by posting a new YouTube vlog, "Catch Up Time" on her account in about four months.
In the video, the former member of the girl group Girls' Generation, revealed her recent status in China for the first time in a long time and expressed her feelings to fans and friends who wished her a happy birthday last April 18.
As the video continues, Jessica also hinted at her stage preparation process when she joined the Chinese audition program, "The Sisters Who Make Waves 3."
She specifically showed her daily life with Chinese celebrities who appeared together in the program as well as at the dance practice site. The star also added a short snippet of her wine-drinking session with her friend, actress Cici Wang.
Former SNSD Jessica Jung Attracts Attention Following Meaningful Remark
Throughout the vlog, Jessica Jung revealed how she was working hard as a celebrity in China, gaining more interest for her upcoming re-debut in a new girl group.
But the main highlight of the whole video was the female idol writing a heartfelt letter to her fans in her diary.
Jessica who sat in front of the camera in her comfortable pajamas said:
"Hi, Sparkles! Hello, my golden stars! I was thinking before I went to bed. I'm trying to say what's in my heart, what I feel, and what I want to express to you guys."
"You guys always make funny memes about me and that makes me really happy. That makes me laugh. I imagine you guys making it (memes) and it's cuter."
Jessica then started to open up:
"I don't like, I mean, my fans will know, but I don't really speak what's really inside (my heart). I try to keep it to myself. Because over the years, I learned that that was the best for me."
As she continued, Jessica expressed her trust to her fans, adding:
"But with you guys, I can say anything, right? Just, I can do it"
Following her remark, Jessica gained attention whether the female idol is indirectly hinting at the difficulties she met before and after leaving the K-pop industry.
In particular, Jessica debuted as a member of "Nation's Girl Group" Girls' Generation in 2007 and reportedly left the team in September 2014 due to conflict with her group's schedule and own business venture, "BLANC & ECLARE."
Prior to going back to the U.S., Jessica clarified that she was actually kicked out by her teammates and SM Entertainment. However, the truth was never explained and her traces from the group were "erased" one by one.
After establishing her career in the U.S. in the fashion scene, she also debuted as a novel writer, releasing books, "Shine" and its sequel, "Bright," following the journey of a Korean-American Rachel Kim, from her trainee days until she debuted in a girl group called Girls Forever.
While the novel is a work of fiction, Jessica mentioned that some of the scenes were based on her experiences. Due to this, despite the popularity of the books, it also caused controversy and she was accused of disparaging the image of Girls' Generation members. Neither of these claims was addressed by Jessica.
On the other hand, the female idol ranked second place in the audition competition, "The Sisters Who Make Waves" Season 3 which was released in May. The program allows stars to have their second "heyday" through a re-debut in a girl group.
