LOONA Yeojin Shocks Many After Revealing She Hasn't Been Paid Since Group's Debut
In recent months, LOONA's managing agency, Blockberry Creative, has been a embroiled in several controversies and criticisms involving the girl group. From excluding member Chuu from LOONA's first-ever world tour, alleged mistreatment of the idol, to overworking the members with their jam-packed activities with little to no rest.
But recently, Blockberry Creative is now embroiled in another issue with the group after member Yeojin shared a shocking revelation about the group's earnings.
Back on September 23, Yeojin took to the fan messaging app Fab to have a chat with fans, Orbits, about anything under the sun. In particular, one of the topics that was brought up was whether or not the LOONA member was wealthy.
To this, Yeojin shocked many when she revealed that isn't the case for her, as she has yet to receive any earnings from her agency following LOONA's official debut.
LOONA made their official debut back in August 2018 with the single "Hi High." However, they were already releasing pre-debut tracks since October 2016.
If this really is the case, this means that Yeojin and the rest of the LOONA members have been enduring harsh working conditions for the past six years without receiving any earnings in return.

However, the issue of not having any earnings despite already making their debut is common in the K-pop industry. Given that agencies have to invest a lot of money for each idol during their trainee days, it is common for newly debuted idols not to receive any earnings in the first few years as a way to repay back the cost of their training.
But many also found that the LOONA members not having any earnings for the past six years a bit extreme, especially with the health issues the members have been experiencing lately.

It is also likely that LOONA and Blockberry Creative experienced financial issues due to the effects of COVID-19, and that their current world tour is a way for them to earn back any financial loss.
However, it may take a long time for each of the members to earn a significant amount of money, given that the group's earnings would also need to be divided among the 12 members.
Do you think six years is a long time for LOONA not to earn anything?
