On May 24, Cartier announced that BLACKPINK Jisoo has become the newest global ambassador for the French luxury jewelry and watch brand.

Arnaud Carrez, the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Cartier, commented, "When we wanted to embody the magnetic aura of the panther, our attention was instinctively drawn to Jisoo. With her self-assured style, she is the voice of a new generation of creatives who dare to show their different talents. She is an artist who takes on her role with great creative freedom, never limiting herself."

Recently, it was revealed how Cartier was able to make BLACKPINK Jisoo their global ambassador.

In an online forum, one netizen shared an article published by madame FIGARO in June and translated the content that was originally written in French to English. They shared that it was mentioned in the article that Cartier doubled the amount of Dior's contract offer to BLACKPINK Jisoo to get her as the global ambassador.

The netizen also pointed out that one of the factors that caught the attention of Cartier was how Dior's profits increased by 400% thanks to MZ-generation consumers (currently in their twenties and early thirties) since Jisoo was appointed as the brand's global ambassador.

In addition to that, there was also a time when Dior's media influence index ranked first among the world's four major fashion brands after Paris Fashion Week last year. That was the time when BLACKPINK Jisoo attended Dior's fashion show.

For the record, Dior and Cartier are respectively owned by LVMH and Richemont, two of the highest-ranking world luxury brands that rival one another. LVMH's Dior is known for their huge sums of contract offers to the global ambassadors as per the wishes of its president Bernard Arnault.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK Jisoo uploaded a new promotional video with Cartier on Oct. 1. The clip also features Korean actor Song Kang.

BLACKPINK Jisoo Becomes Most-Followed Female K-pop Artist in September 2022

In other news, K-pop Radar revealed that BLACKPINK Jisoo gained the most Instagram followers among female K-pop artists in September 2022.

According to their data, Jisoo garnered a total of 1,162,067 new followers, making her total followers surpassed 64.67 million followers as of Sept. 30. But, as of this writing, her IG followers have reached 64.8 million.

Among the female K-pop artists, Jisoo was the only one to obtain 1.1 million IG followers. The artist coming in second place is her fellow BLACKPINK member Jennie, who had 1,049,970 new followers.

On top of that, BLACKPINK Jisoo is also the K-pop artist with the highest number of new followers overall in September 2022. Including male idols, the singer that comes after her is BTS V with 1,134,222 new followers.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK members- Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa- secured Top 1 to 4 on the list of female K-pop artists in order. Then, their group Instagram account ranked fifth.
