Since girl groups are dominating the Korean charts this year, many international K-pop fans are wishing for rookie girl groups to achieve more and leave the 'nugudom'.

In this article, we listed six K-pop girl groups that fans really want to get more popular.

Cignature

First on the list is the seven-membered girl group from J9 entertainment, CIGNATURE. Members Chaesol, Jeewon, Seline, Chloe, Belle, Semi, and Dohee debuted on February 3, 2020, with the lead single "Nun Nu Nan Na".

They already have two members that left the group due to inactivity. Many fans are worried that they might disband without releasing anything. Their last comeback was last year November 30, 2021, with the song "Boyfriend".

Nature

Next is the girl group from a small company, n.CH Entertainment, Nature. The nine-membered girl group is known by its fans as a group with fresh and cool concepts.

Former soloist and "Produce 101" contestant Sohee was added to the group in the mid of their career after she has tried being a soloist.

Their latest song "Rica Rica" did not gain any traction for the group and has not come back since the special track. It has been more than nine months now since, and their fans are worried for their future.

IRRIS

Though newly debuted, fans are wanting the next girl group on our list to escape 'nugudom' as they are that good.

IRRIS means I am the Reflection of Reality and Illusions/I tRuely Realized that I can be all colorS. They are a 4-member girl group under JUSTICE RECORDS.

They debuted on July 6th, 2022 with "Wanna Know".IRRIS recently came back with a new song titled "Bye Bye" and it is definitely a breath of fresh air.

It is a b-side of their debut album and the company decided to create a music video for it. It did not disappoint the fans as it was done amazingly.

bugAboo

After debuting last year, bugAboo has consistently released songs to gain fans and fame. They released the debut track with the same name. Then came back with another single album named "POP".

However, it was not enough for them to actually gain traction and more sales. However, their fans are not giving up on them.

BVNDIT

The first girl group that MNH Media (home to Chungha) released in 2019 is part of the list. Though the girl group was active in their career early on and was invited to shows and year-end awards, they are now nowhere to be seen as they have not released any songs or albums.

It was probably the pandemic that made their company lose money so they cannot invest in the comeback of BVNDIT. Fans are commenting that it makes them sad to think that the "Hocus Pocus" singers might disband real soon.

"Re-Original is one of my favorite albums this year and I love their other albums. I guess it wouldn't be surprising if they disbanded but it would certainly be disappointing"

Though they are active on social media, their last proper come back was last year so fans are thinking that it is not impossible for them to suddenly disband since no new material is being released.

For fans, Saturday is a great group of girls with great tracks. They would really like to see the girl group break through someday
