Did you know that these top actors and actresses are originally K-pop idols? They are extremely talented in acting, but it seems like they also have hidden skills in singing and dancing!

In the K-pop scene, there are a lot of idols that are entering the field of acting as well. Some of the most popular idol actors include SNSD YoonA, 2PM Junho, EXO D.O., and more.

But prior to them, there have been many actors who used to be singers in the past. But after cementing their image as actresses and actors, newer fans may not know that they are actually idols originally.

Here Are 6 K-pop Idols Turned Actors/Actresses You Might Not Know:

1. Joo Won- FREEZE

Before Joo Won rose as a Hallyu star, he is actually a member of FREEZE first, a five-member group aimed at children.

The group debuted in 2006 and contrary to his strong charisma when acting, he flaunts fresh and cute appearance at the time. He also hosted a children's variety show called, "VIVA FREEZE."

But once he debuted as an actor, he left the group and pursue a musical career; later on, transitioned from theater to small-screen actor.

2. Son Ho Jun - Tachyon

Technically, Son Ho Jun was a model and news anchor before debuting as an idol in 2005, but he established his acting career after creating his name as an idol.

Tachyon, a three-member team debuted in 2007, where Ho Jun serves as the leader and songwriter of the group.

Tachyon is named following the worldview of having the property of moving faster than light, and it was a group name that means "to be accepted by the music industry faster than light."

Son Ho Jun drew laughter by saying:

"I didn't know it would disappear faster than light."

3. Kim Ji Seok - LEO

Kim Ji Seok debuted in 2001 as a rapper of the five-member Eurodance group LEO.

Unfortunately, the group didn't make it big, leading to their disbandment after eight months.

In 2004, Kim began his acting career and became more popular as an actor.

4. Oh Yeon Seo - LUV

Oh Yeon Seo, who is widely loved as an actress was originally an idol as well!

In 2002, Oh Yeon Seo debuted in a trio girl group called LUV and was known as the group who debuted at FIFA World Cup.

Despite their visuals and skills, LUV didn't attain public attention as expected, and their disbandment happen when their boss called them and told them to go home, permanently.

After the trio parted ways, Oh Yeon Seo challenged acting in 2003 and since then, she rose as one of the best actresses in the acting scene, notable for her work, "Come, Jang Bo Ri" and "Come Back Mister."

5. Seo Hyunjin - M.I.L.K

In 2001, Seo Hyun Jin debuted in a four-member girl group M.I.L.K under SM Entertainment.

When she debuted, Seo Hyun Jin was lauded for her excellent singing skills enough to be the main vocalist at the time.

But the group, unfortunately, disbanded, and Seo then turned to an acting career.

6. Kim Kang Woo - GUARDIAN

Kim Kang Woo has been active in the music industry as a rapper for the four-member boy band GUARDIAN.

In particular, Kang Woo's debut is unexpected because he only went to the agency for his friend out of pure curiosity. He didn't know that this curiosity will lead him to become a rapper of the idol group.
