To commemorate its 18th founding anniversary, the Korean entertainment & business magazine Joy News 24 conducted a survey under the theme, "best singers who shone in 2022."

The survey was conducted from September 19 to October 4 and was answered by 200 music industry workers, including those from entertainment and broadcasting companies, film and broadcasting content producers, and entertainment journalists.

IVE Crowned As 'Best Singer 2022'

As a result of the fierce battle, the top seat was secured by the "rookie monster" girl group IVE after earning 47 votes from industry insiders.

This result is really impressive since the group only debuted in December 2021 but they managed to gain the trust and hearts of music officials in less than a year. On top of that, the group also beats leading singers in the music industry.

Starting with the success of their debut track, "ELEVEN," IVE's second single, "Love Dive," recorded an incredible feat after the song ranked 199th on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. / Top 10 chart for 29 consecutive weeks, while its third single, "After LIKE," was also ranked 98th on the "Billboard Global 200 (Top 20)" chart and 58th on the "Billboard Global (excluding the US / Top 9)" chart.

Its popularity in Korea is even way hotter. IVE's latest hit, "After LIKE" achieved 14 wins in music programs and set a record for the most number one in music programs this year, so there is no doubt that the group deserved the title, "the best singer of 2022."
