Blockberry Creative, LOONA's agency, recently announced their future activities following Chuu's departure.
Why are Orbits unhappy?
LOONA To Make Comeback In January, Blockberry Creative Responds to Report
LOONA will reportedly make their first comeback after kicking out Chuu from the group.
According to a K-pop official on December 7, as reported by various K-media outlets including OSEN, LOONA is preparing for their return with the goal of releasing it on January 3, 2023.
As a result of the confirmation with an official from Blockberry Creative, the agency told Herald POP on the same day:
"It is true that LOONA is preparing for a comeback, but the date is still undecided. We will officially inform you later when the comeback date is confirmed."
In particular, if LOONA is indeed currently in preparation for a new release next year, this will be their first comeback in about seven months after the group's special mini-album "Flip That" was released in June.
In addition to this, LOONA's comeback is also making some noise as it is their first comeback as an 11-member group after Chuu was expelled from the group due to alleged power abuse against staff.
LOONA Hints At Their Stay With Blockberry Creative With Comeback – Why Are Orbits Not Happy?
After the reports, the news attracted divided opinions from K-pop fans, especially from Orbits (LOONA fandom).
Many fans expressed their excitement and delight at seeing the members on the K-pop stage again, but it also made plenty of Orbits raise their brows.
It has been only less than a month since Chuu was kicked out of the group, but the agency is already making its move to divert fans' attention from the controversial expulsion.
On November 25, the company stated that Chuu was removed from LOONA after reports of power abuse. However, fans expressed doubts about the real reason for the idol's removal, given that the conflict between the two erupted last year.
The agency dismissed allegations that they were lying and attested that they did fact-checking with staff.
In response, Chuu also revealed her position and strongly denied this claim, saying:
"...what is clear is that I have never done anything to embarrass my fans."
Fans say it is difficult to fully enjoy the comeback in the midst of the issue.
Another reason Orbits are upset is due to the possible stay of the members in the company for a longer period of time.
Initially, there are reports that nine of the remaining members, excluding ViVi and Hyunjin, applied for termination of contract.
Immediately after, Blockberry drew a line that the rumor and related to it were "groundless."
Nevertheless, Orbits' trust in the agency has fallen sharply, and the fandom hopes the group will leave the company and find a new nest, even if it means changing their group's name.
Where Is Chuu Now? Idol's Status After Expulsion From LOONA
On the other hand, Chuu started her personal activities as well despite controversy. She is continuing various activities with the support of her fans and celebrity friends.
In addition to appearing in various entertainment shows and advertisements, she released a winter duet song "Dear My Winter" with singer George on December 5.
After her expulsion from LOONA, rumors of her transfer to BY4M Studio are circulating, and she is expected to actively perform solo activities.
