On the same day, it was reported by the Asia Economic Daily media outlet that Suga also set his military service plans. The idol, who will soon turn 30, will most likely be assigned as a social service worker with the intent of working in a government office, considering the aftermath of his shoulder injury in 2020.

Suga is presumed to serve in the military in 2023. Following him, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook are also expected to join the military, sequentially, with the aim of reconvening in 2025.

What Will Happen To BTS Amid Enlistment? Here's What Military Officials Say

Following the septet's military enlistment announcement, especially about Jin and Suga, K-pop fans are already conveying concerns about what will happen to the group amid the hiatus. Although there are other members' solo activities, ARMYs expressed sadness that they won't be able to see and hear BTS perform as a whole.

Just then, according to a News1 report on the 13th, political circles have already argued that if BTS members join the military, they should consider the "side effects" of their suspension of music activities.

In response, the military authorities believe that even if BTS members, including Jin, join the military and become soldiers, there is no problem in supporting external events for public interest purposes under related regulations.

According to the current Military Personnel Management Order, soldiers who have served for more than three months after their deployment are eligible to be dispatched to support cultural and artistic events at the "national and all military level."

In addition, soldiers can also travel abroad for official purposes in accordance with the Ministry of National Defense's Overseas Travel Directive.

BTS members, who are currently ambassadors for the 2030 Busan Expo, are expected to be able to participate in national events for activities to host the fair if there is a related request even after joining the military.

Also, BTS can participate in overseas business trips to host the Busan Expo.

Earlier in August, Defense Minister Lee Jong Seop said:

"I think BTS members can come to the military, give them practice time, and perform overseas. As a result of the review by the Ministry of National Defense, we can continue to perform in terms of the scope and national interest."

In this regard, a military official explained as well:

"We will apply the current regulations the same as ordinary soldiers to manage them so that there is no problem with equity."
