After exposing the "poor treatment" they received from Cube Entertainment, Neverlands speculated that (G)I-DLE hinted at their departure from the agency after saying THESE.
(G)I-DLE Becomes Hot Topic For THESE 'Remarks' Against Cube Entertainment
On December 13, (G)I-DLE attracted attention from their fandom Neverlands. The reason was due to the team's cryptic messages they wrote during a recent interview.
In particular, the quintet appeared in the YouTube web content, 1theK's "KINGboard with (G)I-DLE," on the 12th.
The mechanics of the interview is that they will be asked questions and they should chat or type their answers using the huge keyboard in front of them.
During the interview then, (G)I-DLE were asked:
"What is Cube Entertainment to the group?"
In response, Yuqi immediately wrote:
"Ppyong."
When leader Jeon Soyeon asked for its meaning:
"What is Ppyong?"
(As a context, "ppyong" is a Korean slang commonly used when saying goodbye in a cute manner. This is also used to describe a thing disappearing in an instant.)
Yuqi replied:
"Doesn't it mean goodbye?"
Jeon Soyeon was flustered a bit yet she smiled awkwardly before saying:
"Hey, you're really mean."
The teasing didn't stop there as Shuhua confidently stepped up to the front of the keyboard and typed:
"I'll be..."
"Two years left (of the contract period)."
The maknae's remark instantly devastated the hall. Jeon Soyeon then hurriedly deleted the message, but Shuhua was upset and asked:
"What's wrong?"
The leader pretended not to hear her and instead wrote:
"I love you so much (Cube Entertainment)."
Miyeon also said:
"But I really acknowledge it. I really love you (Cube)."

Upon broadcast, people responded in various ways through social media platforms. A lot were intrigued by the members' remarks.
"LOL this is suspicious?"
"Are you dissatisfied with your agency?"
"It's funny that Jeon Soyeon quietly solves it alone."
"(Shuhua, Yuqi) speak Korean well."
"You don't know the future."
"I don't think you're serious because it's something you've been talking about steadily."
In particular, fans are curious if the members are hinting at the team's possible departure from Cube Entertainment after their contract expiration in 2025.
Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE is a five-member girl group from Cube Entertainment that debuted in May 2018. The members are Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua.
In 2022, the quintet showed unrivaled performance in the music scene with two consecutive hits.
(G)I-DLE's first full-length album "I NEVER DIE" released in March and its fifth mini-album "I love" released in October won the top of the annual chart of a large Chinese music site, and won 11 trophies in a row in domestic music broadcasts. The two albums respective title tracks, "TOMBOY" and "Nxde" also caused a hot syndrome not only among Koreans but globally.
