"I think I'd better start my own company." In a broadcast, Super Junior members confessed their thoughts on renewing their contract with SM Entertainment.
Super Junior Shares Thoughts on Contract Renewal With SM Entertainment
"Hallyu Kings" Super Junior showcased their hilarious antics on JTBC's "Knowing Bros."
On December 24, the group, who released their winter song "Celebrate" on the 15th, appeared in the broadcast, giving laughter with their seasoned sense of entertainment.
Among the stories they shared, what captured the attention of K-pop enthusiasts, particularly ELFs (fandom) the most was their talk about renewing their contract with SM.
Super Junior, who had their 17th anniversary this year with the release of the album "The Road: Celebration - 11th Album Vol. 2," expressed their feelings on the celebration.
In particular, when Seo Jang Hoon asked:
“How many times have you renewed your contract now?”
Super Junior members responded:
"It's our third time."
MC Lee Soo Geun then expressed curiosity about conflicts when renewing and asked:
"Who was the one who usually asked to leave (before the contract renewal)?"
In response, Kim Heechul confessed:
"As for me, I've been in SM Entertainment for a long time, so I am the one who usually says, 'I would leave'. Meanwhile, Siwon is the one who would say, 'I'd better start my own company."

Leeteuk then attested to Siwon wanting to launch a company for Super Junior.
"It's true. If I'm talking about what to do in the renewal season, Siwon will watch and say, 'I'll pull 50 billion won.' (about 39.06M USD)
In response, Heechul Kim would test Siwon, asking:
"Are you willing to burn 50 billion won to Super Junior?"
Heechul then imitated Siwon's tone, saying:
"There are many CEOs who invest in us like that.
When Ka Ho Dong asked where Siwon will get that amount of money, Eunhyuk showed off Siwon's affluent background by proudly saying:
"It can come out from his piggy bank. If you rob his savings, it will cost about 50 billion won."
Will All Super Junior Members Renew Contract With SM Entertainment?
During the conversation, the team recalled their eventful process, saying:
- "I thought that lasting seven years would be a lot, but we are now in our 17th year." (Leeteuk)
- "We were a project group from the very start" (Eunhyuk)
- "There were also times when we took a break in the middle." (Yesung)
Despite these thoughts and plans, Super Junior conveyed their strong desire to stick together for a long time as a group.
Leader Leeteuk announced:
"I told this to the members on our 17th debut anniversary. Let's be Super Junior until we die. Let's be SJ even when we go to heaven."
Shindong added:
"If I were to go the other world while the members are still here, I told them to hold a concert or party for me."
