In April this year, it was recalled that member T.O.P first reported the expiration of his exclusive contract with YG. Since then, he has chosen to stand alone as well and entered the liquor business.

As a result, the "Kings of K-pop" sitting atop the music scene as a quartet are now on their own paths. This is the first update about them in eight months, following the release of their digital single, "Still Life."

Following the respective update about members, rumors about BIGBANG's disbandment have continued steadily since T.O.P's departure.

Attention is focused on the future direction of the idol group as only GD remains in the company.

Amid this rumor, YG Entertainment clearly drew the line on the possibility of disbanding. The company stressed:

"There is no change in BIGBANG members."

In the case of Taeyang, YG said:

"There is no change in the fact that Taeyang is a family member of YG and a member of BIGBANG. I know that many people are waiting for BIGBANG activities, so we will make efforts to do this together."

Regarding Daesung, the company stated:

"Daesung remains a member of BIGBANG. We will support Daesung's new start and choice and cooperate at any time."

Despite the solo contract discussion, it is attested by fans that G-Dragon is expected to continue being a member of the group, too.

In fact, T.O.P also expressed his intention to join BIGBANG activities at any time as long as it will match his schedule.

Among K-pop groups, GOT7, Girls' Generation and more succeeded with this setup; thus, expectations are high for the four-member group's activities to be shown separately and together by the members.

Above all, as both Taeyang and G-Dragon showed splendid performances as solo artists, attention is also being paid to their performance outside the fence of BIGBANG.

In fact, Taeyang is reportedly going to release a new album under The Black Label, a YG subsidiary headed by Producer Teddy. There is a rumor that he will collaborate with BTS Jimin, although this is yet to be confirmed.
