Hwang Minhyun Gears For 1st Solo Album, PLEDIS Posts Official Announcement

On January 20, Hwang Minhyun's agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, posted an official announcement about Minhyun's current activities. The statement elaborated that Minhyun is working hard for his solo album preparations, which is aimed for a February release.

"Hwang Minhyun is currently working hard in his album preparations. The solo album's release is scheduled in February."

The show will be a male version of "Girls Planet 999," which formed the rookie monster girl group, Kep1er. The candidates would typically be guided throughout the show by a single MC.

However, it is revealed that the star masters in "Boys Planet" would change in every mission, while maintaining a supporting role to the trainees.

Mnet showcased that Minhyun would be the first star master, which is suitable due to his experience on "Produce 101 Season 2," and history with project group, Wanna One.

In the video, Minhyun expresses how much of an honor it is to be chosen as star master. The idol also elaborated how deeply he understands the trainees, due to their passion in performing. With his presence on the show, Minhyun hoped his mentoring will be of help, since the trainees are the future of K-pop.

"It's a big honor for me to be in 'Boys Planet' as the first Star Master. I'm so happy. I can actually understand how enthusiastic the trainees feel."

"I wish my experience can be at least of a small help to them. All the trainees here are worth shining as the future of K-pop. I wish lots of people support and cheer on them."
