What Will Happen To Brave Girls? Group's Agency Criticized For 'Wasting' Members' Talent

Amid the contract renewal season for Brave Girls in February 2023, fans are worried about the future of the group as they suddenly "disappeared" into the music scene after their reversed popularity.

Brave Girls' Future Worries FEARLESS As Group's Contract Expiration Approaches

Brave Girls belatedly rose into popularity in 2020 after their 2017 track, "Rollin'," became a massive hit in Korea.

At the time, Brave Girls was on the brink of disbanding, but with their reverse-driving fame, members Yuna, Yujeong, Minyoung and Eunji returned to the music scene to promote the song in music shows once again.

Their impact continued and they were able to solidify their name as "Summer Queens" with succeeding releases, such as "After We Ride," among others. Aside from dominating the music charts, they also reigned in the entertainment scene and beauty industry for their visuals.

In the same year, Brave Girls made use of their viral song and established their name as one of the most popular girl groups in South Korea, even though it was late.

But Brave Girls' contract expiration is getting near, which is reportedly on Feb. 16. The four-member team must decide whether to renew their contracts with its agency Brave Entertainment or not.

While most agencies would usually pursue their artists to have contract renewal, it might not be the same case for the girl group due to the speculated unpleasant treatment they receive from the company.

Unfortunately, Brave Girls, following their fame, seemed to have slowed down after releasing "Chi Mat Ba Ram" in 2021. Although they released more songs following this, the group had been continuously criticized for repeating songs and concepts, as well as their old-fashioned 'fits, music videos, and more.

They also failed to capture more fans locally and globally, eventually taking a break from releasing albums.

In 2022, they only released a single, "How Come," and it was not even an original song but a remake of Brown Eyed Girls' 2008 hit track.

Their fandom, FEARLESS, is not blaming the girl group's decline in popularity but the agency.

In 2022, the quartet was supposed to embark on a U.S. tour following a Korean concert, but it was indefinitely postponed due to the pandemic.

Since then, Brave Entertainment didn't release any further information about it. Brave Girls also doesn't have any concrete activities, such as their own variety show for new content, aside from behind-the-scenes clips and greeting videos on their official YouTube channel.

FEARLESS are frustrated at the company for allegedly "wasting" the members' talent and potential despite the opportunity given to them to cement their status as high as BLACKPINK or TWICE.

The group also expressed their desire to continue working as a group, but with Brave Entertainment keeping silent, there are speculations that they won't offer contract renewal as they won't be able to cater to the group's financial support.

In the worst-case scenario, the quartet would have to part ways.

Hopefully, for fans, this would not be the ending for the group and urge them to transfer to another company and re-debut. Although this means giving up their name Brave Girls, fans think it would be preferable to see them having a new name rather than not seeing the group for a longer time.
