HIGHLIGHT Lee Gikwang To Return With New Solo Album in THIS Month

On March 10, Lee Gikwang is preparing for a solo return next month, according to sources confirmed by HIGHLIGHT's management company, Around US Entertainment. The agency encouraged the fans to show support for his solo return.

"Please look forward to his solo album, which will capture Lee Gikwang's strengths as well as new charms," the agency stated.

Lee Gikwang will make his return in mid-April. This will be his first appearance again in 4 years after the release of his first mini-album, "One," in 2017, and the following year's releases of "I" and "Smile and Greet," two digital singles.

With his smooth choreography, unique groove, expressive power, and trendy taste in many contents, including the highlight stage, Lee Gikwang is constantly getting praised.

Through his forthcoming solo album, there are more expectations on how Lee Gikwang will be able to showcase his prowess in his live performances.

Lee Gikwang is known as a singer-songwriter, producer, and actor. The fourth mini-album "After Sunset" and the first full-length album "Daydream" were just a few of the various albums that Lee Gikwang has produced and sung on.

Several albums launched following HIGHLIGHT's military duty also contain several songs he wrote individually.

During his rookie days, Lee Gikwang also appeared in various music videos, such as Apink's "I Don't Know" and K.Will's "Present," and he also hosted music shows such as "Inkigayo." He also made his debut in the acting industry in 2009 with MBC's "High Kick Through the Roof" and has been appearing in different dramas and comedies, such as "My Princess" (2011) and "Mrs. Cop" (2015).

The group Lee Gikwang involved was formerly known as BEAST, which debuted in 2009 under CUBE Entertainment. The band initially consisted of 6 members, with Jang Hyun Seung, who decided to leave last 2016, and Yong Jun Hyung, who left in 2019.

The group continues as a 4-member group. After their contract with CUBE Entertainment, they decided to establish their own independent company Around Us Entertainment and replaced their name with HIGHLIGHT.

HIGHLIGHT is now continuing as a 4-member group: Yoo Doo Joon, Yoo Yang Seob, Son Dong Woon, and Lee Gikwang. The group's albums have appeared on several charts, including the World Albums chart, where last year's Highlight peaked at No. 9.

Hits like "Beautiful Night" and "Shadow" have also placed the group on Billboard's Best of K-pop lists in 2012 and 2013, while "Good Luck" debuted at No. 1 in 2014.

Currently, Lee Gikwang is presenting as a DJ on KBS Cool FM's "Lee Gi Kwang's Song Plaza," and as a judge on JTBC's survival-entertainment program "Peak Time."
