BLACKPINK Jisoo just made history! The idol made a huge achievement by becoming a soloist million-seller with "ME." Sadly, some of her co-member Lisa's fans are unhappy for THIS reason.
BLACKPINK Jisoo Becomes 1st Million-Selling Female Artist With Solo Debut Album 'ME'
BLACKPINK Jisoo solidified her solo debut success after earning the title of becoming the first Korean female solo artist to record an initial million seller!
On April 4, YG Entertainment, Jisoo's agency, announced that she became the first-ever female soloist to have a million-selling album, beating other K-pop soloists as well as her BLACKPINK co-members.
According to the company, Jisoo's solo album, "ME," released on March 31 sold 1.02 million copies, making it the highest-selling single album as well among female solo artists based on its first-week sales.
On the first day of its release, it sold 870,000 copies, and after four days, it finally reached the million mark.
As there are still two more days to determine its initial chodong (first-week sales), the number of Jisoo's sold album copies is expected to increase.

Meanwhile, in terms of digital, Jisoo is also doing well locallu and abroad. Her album's title track, "FLOWER," topped the iTunes Top Song Chart in 63 countries, while it ranked sixth in the largest music streaming platform, Spotify, on the first day of its release, the highest feat among female soloists.
As of March 5 (2 p.m. KST), the official music video for its song also exceeded 83 million views, raising expectations that it can surpass 100M a week after its release.
Lisa's Fans (Lilies) Express Disappointment Following Jisoo's New Achievement - Why?
As soon as the news was delivered, BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom) and Sooyas (Jisoo's fans) expressed their happiness for the idol's new record. Her supporters took to social media to congratulate her, expressing how she is deserving of the achievement.
However, some of Lisa's fans, also known as Lilies, raised their brows against Jisoo's new title, after claiming that Lisa actually became a million-seller even before the latter member.
In an online community, supporters of Lisa accused YG Entertainment of intentionally hiding the real album sales of Lisa's solo debut album, "LALISA," released in 2021.
After recording 700k pre-orders within four days, fans assumed that the 1 million mark would be achieved sooner. But it was already August 2022 when the updated sales count was still in 808k.
In February 2023, it was revealed that Lisa's sales increased to 810k.
With this, fans became skeptical about how Lisa's album sales had only risen by 1.5k units, given how popular and huge her solo fandom is.
Lilies then started speculating that the reason YG was hiding her real album sales was that the company doesn't want a non-Korean to become the first K-pop female million-selling artist.
Despite these accusations, it was never properly addressed by the company.
