Following accusations that BLACKPINK Rosé took drugs at a party, its agency, YG Entertainment dropped its official statement.
Did BLACKPINK Rosé Use Drugs? Accusation Arises Following THIS Photo
On April 12, the name of BLACKPINK Rosé became a hot topic in Chinese entertainment and media platforms after the news was released claiming Rosé took drugs at a party with her acquaintances.
Earlier, a former creative director of a brand released a photo of himself having a party with her friends, including Rosé and actor Kang Dongwon.
Here, some Chinese netizens raised suspicions of Rosé's drug use, pointing to a black and white ashtray on the table. Rumors of unclear publications then spread rapidly, stirring public opinion, including Chinese SNS.
Later on, the speculation also circulated outside China, reaching not only Korean media and netters but global fans.

While some immediately canceled Rosé, her supporters particularly BLINKs (fandom) actively denied the rumor by explaining that the said ashtray was actually decoration of the table. Due to the poor lighting, the image was then distorted, causing misunderstanding.
"What looks like a black and white ashtray is actually the room's decoration. It can be seen in the photos of the house, and the reflection light and shade are clearly shown."
Fans continue to state that Rosé is innocent and was in really good condition, calling out accusers to stop the allegations.
"The actual table top's stainless steel shelf is reflected under the glass, the table shape is 'X' shape, and the spare is made of stainless steel. There is nothing near the Rose table except tableware. Rose's condition was so good in recent conditions. I really want you to stop. Rosé is innocent of the rumors."
YG Entertainment Drops Official Statement on BLACKPINK Rosé's 'Drug Use' Issue
After its silence for about a day, YG Entertainment finally released its official position regarding BLACKPINK's Rosé alleged involvement in drugs.
On April 13, the company refuted the idol's drug use accusation by saying:
"The rumors related to BLACKPINK Rosé which are spreading in some online communities and SNS, are clearly false."
In addition to this, YG also expressed its strong desire to extinguish the fire the rumor has caused by explicitly stating it would take strong legal action against people defaming its artists.
"We are taking legal measures against acts that violate the human rights of our artists and undermine their honor. We are currently monitoring rumors generation and dissemination.
We will respond strongly without any leniency or agreement in the future."
Amid the scandal, Rosé remained silent and has been continuing the quartet's large-scale world tour, "BORN PINK." Recently, the global girl group completed its Japan concert at Tokyo Dome on the 8th and 9th.
This is the group's first performance in Tokyo in about three years and four months since its world tour, "IN YOUR AREA" held in 2019. BLACKPINK's concert in Japan was sold out, attracting a total of 110,000 viewers for two days.
