(G)I-DLE Soyeon Reveals Thoughts While Writing Songs From 'I Feel' Album
In an interview, the (G)I-DLE members expressed their thoughts on the beauty complex and their feelings about the lyrics of their new songs.
On the afternoon of May 15, a production presentation was held at The Great Hong Yuan in Josun Palace, a Luxury Collection in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul to commemorate the release of (G)I-DLE's sixth mini-album, "I Feel."
Their latest album unravels the message of self-esteem that changes according to one's thoughts and emotions with the honest and pleasant charm of (G)I-DLE. The quintet also offers another original series centered on the album's concept that anyone can easily sympathize with and enjoy.
Through this album, the members introduced its title track, "Queencard," which depicts the message of accepting yourself based on your inner appearance, not what you are physical.

Talking about one's outer appearance, the members were then asked if they had a (beauty) complex, and Soyeon replied:
"When I was young, I really thought about this a lot. While comparing (myself) with others, I thought, 'Why am I short and don't have double eyelids?"
The leader who's also the one who wrote most of the songs from the album revealed her thoughts while writing their tracks.
"In fact, when I wrote these songs and the lyrics about self-esteem, I thought a lot about 'I want to be born with short height even if I am born again.' So now, when I ask about my complex, I don't really have anything to say about this. I want to be born as me even if I am born again."
(G)I-DLE Members Talk Beauty Complexes
As the interview went on, the other members also revealed their respective complexes, and Minnie answered:
"I can't think of any complex. No one is perfect, but I also love my imperfect self and I think I like my appearance as it is as long as I am not harming others, so I gained a lot of confidence and self-esteem while preparing for 'Queencard.' I'm not usually overconfident, but I gained self-esteem after spending time with the members. They're all pretty. I hope you love yourself a lot."
Miyeon, the group's visuals and one of the top-tier beauties in K-pop, revealed that she also once felt like she was lacking something. But after preparing for their releases "Tomboy," "Nxde" and "Queencard," she realized something.
"Rather than trying to look into what I lack in detail, I have the power to love and care for myself a little more as I am. Thanks to the fans, that's what happened."
Yuqi also said:
"No one is as perfect as I am."
Among them, Shuhua, the youngest, conveyed her specific complex, saying:
"I must tell you one thing, I eat too much. But when I gain weight, I still feel pretty. I initially thought about whether to talk about it or not. But it's nice to see."
Minnie, who was listening to this, attested her and said:
"I think it's only natural. It's okay. You can work out."
Soyeon also comforted their youngest and told her:
"I made it thinking of a scene where anyone, not someone with a pretty body that fits everyone's standards, says, 'I love my body.' Your body suits you."
