LOONA's agency BlockBerry Creative is gaining heat within fans for banning members from leaving their dormitory.
Here's what happened.
LOONA Hyunjin Shares BlockBerry Creative's Dorm Restrictions, Escape Attempts During Rookie Days
On social media platform Reddit, member Hyunjin's story on application Fab is gaining everyone's attention.
During this timeframe when LOONA was under surveillance, members resorted to different types of escape methods. These escape plans include buying a ladder and taking out the trash, to which both didn't work.
Eventually, Hyunjin became frustrated with the strict implementation. This led her to grab a pair of scissors and cut the CCTV camera wires.
Hyunjin shared:
"Back then, were banned from going out at that point in time. But honestly, how can a person not go outside and still survive, right? In front of our dorm, a CCTV was installed."
"This is so funny. I think we were on the 8th floor, and Chuu unnie and me, we were asking each other, 'what do you think about buying a ladder and climbing out the window? We were looking up ladders on Coupang."
"When the ladder strategy failed, we switched to the taking-out-trash strategy. We got a really big box, and Chuu unnie went inside, so I dragged the box inside the dorm. We practiced that."
"When it didn't work, we pretended to take out the trash and used the box to block the CCTV. At that time, someone else would notice. The company still caught us."
"I just got annoyed with it, so I took a pair of scissors and cut the CCTV wire."
BlockBerry Creative Under Fire For Banning LOONA Members From Leaving Their Dorm
Meanwhile, fans also discovered a previous clip of Chuu, who opened up about the dorm restrictions. The idol shared how they were only allowed to go outside for 20 minutes.
While Hyunjin made an attempt to share a funny story with ORBITs, this reveal didn't sit well with fans, as they expressed their rage on BlockBerry Creative for their treatment to LOONA.
Fans commented:
"I'm not even joking when I say the CEO and managers who enabled this behaviour should be condemned to the deepest pits of hell."
"They enforced behaviour which constitute human rights violations."
"They're disgusting and abusive, I need the other girls to be freed too."
"I'm glad these girls are leaving one by one, hope they will all be free soon."
"If they're doing this I wonder how truly badly the girls have been treated throughout their careers. Like if everything were to be unearthed. I can't stomach this."
