K-Eris Demand Chen & Chanyeol's Removal From EXO, Calls For OT6 Promotion
Korean EXO-Ls started yet another protest in front of SM Entertainment and demanded the agency to remove Chanyeol and Chen from the group.
On the morning of May 26, K-Eris sent protest trucks in front of EXO's agency with the complaint:
"Chen and Chanyeol please quit the group.
STOP deceiving fans.
EXO doesn't need a malicious member. CHEN CHANYEOL OUT"
In another protest truck, the fans demanded:
"Maintaining EXO's 6-member system, activities guaranteed. Protect your artists. SM, don't sit on the sideline anymore."
The fandom also hinted at the possible boycott of EXO's upcoming comeback, asking for a promotion with six members only, excluding Chen and Chanyeol.
As of writing, the protest truck is still in front of SM Entertainment's building and the agency is yet to reveal its official position about it.
REASONs K-Eris Want Chanyeol & Chen Removed From EXO
According to those who organized the protesting truck, EXO doesn't need "malicious" members, referring to Chen and Chanyeol.
In 2020, Chen announced his partner's pregnancy and marriage to his girlfriend, hereinafter wife. At the time, EXO-Ls demanded his withdrawal, saying they were disappointed by the sudden marriage news that did not consider EXO members' and fans' feelings.
In response, Chen apologized and hoped for a sincere blessing, but the protest got even stronger.
However, SM also emphasized that all EXO members have expressed their desire to continue to be together with Chen.
While the issue cooled down a bit, K-Eris were more angered when Chen announced the birth of his second baby.
As for Chanyeol, the idol was embroiled in a controversy over his private life in 2020 due to the revelation of A, who claimed to be his ex-girlfriend.
According to the disclosure claimed by A, Chanyeol continued to have inappropriate relationships with 10 other women during his meeting with A, and the agency and Chanyeol did not disclose their position.
Since then, Chanyeol has stopped communicating with his fans, and during his self-reflection, he joined the army in March 2021 and served in the military.
In May of the same year, SM Entertainment took legal action, saying:
"We sued those who spread false information in connection with Chanyeol, and please understand that the police sent it to the prosecution with an opinion of the indictment."
However, after the controversy over privacy arose, fans continued to demand Chen and Chanyeol's withdrawal.
