Without further ado, here are 5 female stars, K-pop idols born from military families.
1. Go Ara
Born in 1990, Go Ara, who is currently known as an actress, has a father who was an Air Force lieutenant and served in the Air Force for about 30 years. In fact, Go Ara was even appointed as an Air Force ambassador in 2016.
Prior to entering the K-drama world, Go Ara almost debuted as a K-pop idol. In fact, she used to train with Girls' Generation under SM Entertainment.

However, her love for acting dominated, and Ara, since then, starred in numerous works, such as "Reply 1994," "Black," "Hwarang," "Miss Hammurabi," and more.
2. aespa Winter

aespa Winter, who appeared on JTBC's entertainment program "Knowing Bros" earlier, revealed that her original future dream was to become a soldier, influenced by how she grew up in a family of soldiers.
She also mentioned this when she appeared in MBC FM4U's "Kim Shin Young's Hope Song at Noon," stating that although she hasn't tried guerilla training before, she enjoyed the military training.
"My brother is working as an officer."
Although Soldier Winter is cool, aespa Winter is much better!
3. aespa Karina
Although Karina didn't confirm this directly, it is known among MYs that the "Savage" singer actually came from a family, whose head is a Marine member.
This speculation rose when fans noticed that the Marine Corps Association sent a congratulatory message on Twitter when Karina debuted.
When Karina made her debut in 2020, she received a tweet from a Marine Corps Association, saying:
"My colleague, Yoo Chul’s daughter, is finally debuting in a girl group."
They continued:
"We are so proud that she endured and overcame her hard work as a trainee."
4. Jang Gyuri (fromis_9)
Jang Gyuri, who debuted in the girl group fromis_9 before focusing on her acting career, is also a celebrity from a military family.
The idol-turned-actress's father was a colonel in the (Republic of Korea) ROK Army in 2017 and is currently known to be living in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do.
This fact is often associated by fans with why Gyuri has been showing a sharp salute pose incorporated in their choreographies.
Meanwhile, Jang Gyuri, who debuted in 2018 as fromis_9, left the team in 2022 and since then focusing her career as an actress.
5. Fin. K.L. Lee Jin
Lee Jin, a member of the "Nation's Fairy" Group Fin. K.L., once revealed that her father was a former divisional commander for the ROK army.
Among the aforementioned, Lee Jin actually experienced living in a military base during her childhood.
