Stans Compare Impact of Two Groundbreaking Girl Groups: Wonder Girls & NewJeans
In other news, netizens opened an online discussion regarding the influence made by second-gen sensation Wonder Girls and the timeless NewJeans.
On June 10, a netizen uploaded several gifs of Wonder Girls' memorable K-pop hits such as "Tell Me," "So Hot," and most of all, their international breakout song "Nobody."
Meanwhile, NewJeans was also mentioned along with their songs "Attention," "Hype Boy," and "Ditto." Both girl groups made their marks in their respective times. However, netizens proceeded with the discussion.
Some remarked that if it was a "syndrome" impact on the general public, Wonder Girls' "Tell Me" would be the perfect pick, but some stated otherwise.
If the effect of the song best suited "modern" times, then any songs from NewJeans can be selected. Netizens also emphasized that during the second generation, trending in social media wasn't much of a thing, highlighting that Wonder Girls was amazing enough to gain the attention and love of the general public.
"If we're talking about 'syndrome,' then it's 'Tell Me' but to be honest, if we're talking about "modern", then it's NewJeans."
"Of course people are gonna say that 4th gen songs are obviously more modern than 2nd gen, but the syndrome comparison is also unfavorable to NewJeans because the idol industry was different in the 2nd gen from the 4th gen."
"If you're looking at the song itself, NewJeans' songs are better and more of a "syndrome". WG benefited the general public's buff in their days. But back then was back then and now is now."
"Social media trend wasn't a thing back then and for Wonder Girls' song to be famous all over Asia with 'Nobody,' then they're really a legend."
Congratulations to NewJeans for this wonderful achievement!
