Producer J.Y. Park, the founder of " BIG4" JYP Entertainment officially embarked on the search for rare and hidden gems that will join the debut lineup of its new global girl group project!

In collaboration with the U.S. No.1 label Republic Records (selected by Billboard under Universal Music), JYP on July 14 finally launched, "A2K" (America to Korea), a mega-joint project that aim to select members for a new American girl group.
In particular, the agency's new girl group will consist of North American members that are trained to become world-class idols through JYP's unique K-pop training system.
J.Y. Park will lead auditions in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Dallas and LA to look for rare gems and successful candidates will move to the LA boot camp for another round battle.
In this evaluation, the contestants will be assessed based on the four qualities of K-pop stars: dance, singing, star quality and personality. Only those who will receive these four pendants will be given the chance to train at JYP's main headquarters in Seoul and join the final debut lineup.
A2K, a global girl group launch survival project based on the first K-pop training system in North America, is available on JYP's official YouTube channel at 10 a.m. KST every Tuesday and Friday.
'A2K' Contestant Profiles: Prospective Members of JYP New Girl Group
In the first episode, three contestants from Dallas and Chicago were introduced.
Camilla, who appeared in 2016's "The Voice Kids Canada," Kendall, who visited Korea with a dream of becoming a K-pop artist, and Lexus, who retired from ballet after doing it 12 years since the age of four to pursue her new dream of being an idol.
In the second episode, Melissa was introduced, a 17-year-old pop singer-songwriter since 2018 who also debuted as a musical actress and Christina, who is a dance coach at her own dance academy.
There is also Savanna who found her new life goal after training to become a professional gymnast for seven years but has to quit due to an injury.
Lastly, the youngest contestant yet was shown, Kaylee, a 12-year-old idol aspirant who is fluent in Korean and English.
On the other hand, JYP will incorporate training know-how accumulated by artists such as 2PM, DAY6, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, NiziU Xdinary Heroes, and NMIXX in the "A2K" project.
Since the first episode, several applicants were seen dancing to JYP artists' music, raising overseas viewers' expectations, and K-pop music and performances with various personalities are expected to increase the fun of each episode in the future.
