On Twitter, Eric Nam has Filipino fans and netizens wheezing after calling out Manila, the Philippines' capital on his recent tweet. What happened?
Eric Nam Rants About Manila, Philippines — But Filipinos Has Most Response To It
On July 25, the multifaceted Korean-American singer-songwriter Eric Nam initially announced his plan to visit the city of Manila in the Philippines for a fan meeting in August.
Although his meet-and-greet with his Filipino NamNation (fandom) is scheduled for the 5th, the singer decided to arrive on July 31 ahead of the dates to attend TV and radio guesting with local channels and programs.
On August 2, Eric made an appearance in GMA's "TiktoClock" followed by his much-awaited performance for the popular artists' live roadshow of Wish FM 107.5 through the Wish Bus.

On this day then, the singer communicated with fans on Twitter, asking them for suggestions about his prospective setlist for the live radio broadcast.
On the same platform, NamNation shared their experiences and interaction with Eric, the event ending successfully despite the heavy rain.
However, on Eric Nam's way home (or his other schedule), the idol took to Twitter to complain about Manila's traffic!
He ranted:
"manila your traffic is unmatched."
The tweet is comprised of only one line – but Pinoys can definitely feel its INTENSITY!
Apparently, it was raining hard in Manila at the time as an aftermath of Typhoon Khanun in Japan (formerly known as Falcon) in addition to the southwest monsoon. This then caused heavy traffic in the country's capital with is already a long-time problem even on normal days.
Eric Nam Goes Viral for 'Manila' Tweet — Here Are Some of Most Hilarious Replies
After Eric Nam uploaded his tweet, the post has over 1.4 million views as of writing, with 49.2k likes and about 15k combines quotes and retweets.
Most of the comments and replies were hilariously saying "sorry" to him on behalf of Manila while agreeing to his tweet.
Even non-Korean music fans and normal Pinoys expressed that they can't even deny it and can only laugh at his rant after experiencing the heavy traffic for a few days when they are constantly experiencing it almost every day.
A fan even tried to jokingly silence him by saying that he doesn't have (the right) to "complain" when he's experiencing heavy traffic (for free/without effort).
Netters also expressed sarcasm by saying that it is their "pride" and "honor" to be recognized for the heavy traffic in Manila.
Despite the traffic, Eric Nam in his initial interview expressed his love for the Philippines and claimed that he loved coming to the country for the fifth time.
On the other hand, Eric Nam's free fan meeting in the Philippines will be held on August 5 at the Market! Market! activity center. He's expected to showcase songs from his upcoming studio album, "House on a Hill," which will be unveiled on September 8.
The singer-songwriter is also scheduled to have a world tour in 66 cities across North and Latin America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. His concert schedules to South Korea, Southeast Asia and India are to be announced later.
