'Wasted Talent': 5 Proofs Ciipher Could've Been Bigger If They Were Under Better Management

In 2021, the 4th-gen boy group Ciipher made a splendid debut as the first boy group to be produced by K-pop icon Rain after MBLAQ.

While they experienced decent success after being launched, it was after they dropped their third mini-album in May 2022 that the gaps in their activities widen.

Sadly, four members left the team this August, leaving Ciipher to re-organize as a trio.

After the news, Rain was criticized by K-pop fans, especially by Clue (fandom), for alleged mismanagement and repeating the same mistake he did to MBLAQ. According to them, Ciipher could have been bigger if weren't for its agency, which failed to develop and manage the group properly.

5 Proofs Ciipher Could've Been Bigger If They Were Under Better Management

1. No-Skip Songs

While a lot of 4th-gen idol fandoms focus on quantity, CLUE (fandom) takes pride in the quality of Ciipher's discography.

Rather than just releasing repetitive sounds that will gain the attention of the general public or the mainstream, the team puts significance to their creativity, techniques and narrative.

Instead of spouting nonsensical words, Ciipher's songs contain special messages and carefully-written words to convey their journey and experiences as musicians, a thing that many idols don't do nowadays.

2. Popular Members

If the company promoted them better, Ciipher could definitely secure their status as a top-tier K-pop group.

One factor is that the team already consists of members with decent popularity.

Hyunbin was first known in the survival show "Produce X 101," while Keita and Dohwan joined YG Entertainment's "Treasure Box." Tan appeared in "No. Mercy," whereas Tag competed in "High School Rapper 4."

As for Won, he was a former member of 1THE9 which was created through the show, "Under Nineteen."

If the members' popularity was used to invite more supporters to strengthen the fandom base, Ciipher could have been a hotter topic.

Unfortunately, the team has limited opportunity to introduce and show themselves to a larger group of audience.

3. All-Rounder Members

Popularity is a plus factor, but Ciipher can appear with their heads held high when the topic is talents or skills (or both!).

Although they are rookies, Ciipher doesn't fail to serve outstanding and flawless vocals, dance skills, and rap, as well as contribution to music production, proving their status as a group with all-rounder members.

On top of that, they don't only perform to impress, but they see to it that they could perfectly express the meaning and concept of the stage they are to execute.

4. Visuals

Admit it or not, but in the fourth-gen era, one factor to gain popularity is a viral member who possesses top-notch visuals and physique. It's unfortunate, but Ciipher is an "underrated" team that deserves more recognition if weren't for their lack of exposure in the entertainment scene.

The K-pop scene definitely needs something fresh, pure and charismatic that Ciipher has.

5. Admirable Brotherhood

Ciipher is a team that doesn't only shine through the aforementioned, but they are also admirable for their perfect harmony and connection as a team.

Although the members have individual fandoms even prior to their debut, no member wants to stand out alone; rather, they help each other to unleash their full potential that could make the team grow and develop more.
