SHINee Onew, SECHS KIES Ji Yong Raise Public Concerns After Drastic Weight Loss
Among idols who drew worries due to significant weight loss, SHINee Onew suspended his activities due to poor health.
Prior to their official comeback in June, SM Entertainment brought the unfortunate news that SHINee's leader, Onew, wouldn't be able to join the group's activities after his health condition continues to deteriorate.

The company highlighted that after receiving counseling and examination, the medical staff advised Onew to undergo treatment to recuperate.
Since then, Onew's appearance has been revealed through MBC's "The Manager," which was filmed before the suspension of his activities, and his emaciated face drew attention.
Regardless of this, Onew showed professionalism in the broadcast on this day as he did his best to practice their choreography and talk with the members, but his pitifully thin face caused concern.
Aside from him, Ko Ji Yong, a member of the 1st-gen boy group SECHS KIES also raised concerns among fans with his thin appearance.

On August 18, Ko Ji Yong appeared on the online channel, "My House," and shared his status. He revealed that after hiatus as an idol, he has been doing real estate development consulting and corporate acquisition financing.
Although it is Ko Ji Yong's appearance in front of the public for the first time in a long time, he seemed to have no strength in explaining his recent situation. His sunken cheeks and skinny physique were compared to the time he appeared on KBS2's "Superman is Back" in 2017.
2NE1 Park Bom Gains Concern for 'Yo-Yo' Effect After Successful Diet
Contrary to the aforementioned, Park Bom, a member of 2NE1, is drawing attention to gaining weight after her initial successful weight loss.
On August 14, Park Bom released several selfies through her social network service account. In the released photo, Park Bom is wearing a green costume and enjoying a comfortable daily life in bed.
Internet users responded embarrassedly to the photo, saying they didn't recognize her.
Park Bom lost 11kg in 2021 with the help of a diet company. However, she has since gained weight rapidly, which has led to rumors of health problems.
In response, the agency said:
"The theory of health abnormalities is not true."
Bom also dismissed rumors, saying:
"I don't think I paid attention to dieting because I'm not active."
