Bang Yedam To Start Afresh in New Agency, Mentions TREASURE & YG Entertainment As He Begins Solo Career

On August 24, Bang Yedam announced that he would finally be starting anew in his new nest as a solo idol! In his statement, the idol then warmed hearts by mentioning the former group and agency; TREASURE and YG Ent.

On August 24, GF Entertainment announced the news of its exclusive contract with Bang Yedam.

"We are happy to sign a contract with a talented artist. We will spare no effort to support Bang Yedam so that he can become a musician active in various fields such as producer and singer."

Along with this, the idol also personally delivered the news of the contract signing through his SNS. Through his message, Yedam mentioned his former group, fandom, and agency, and expressed his gratitude to them.

"Hello, I'm Bang Yedam. We're going to be with a new company, GF Entertainment.

I'd like to thank TREASURE MAKERS for supporting me since TREASURE activities, and I'd like to thank YG Entertainment for allowing me to grow as I am now for a long time. I'll work in various ways, so please keep an eye on me. I'm grateful."

Upon hearing this news, fans, especially TREASURE MAKERS (TEUMEs), rooted and cheered for Bang Yedam who settled in a new agency nine months after leaving TREASURE and YG Entertainment.

Along with GF Entertainment, he announced a leap forward as a producer and solo artist with his own music color, raising high expectations from fans.

Meanwhile, GF Entertainment is home to the boy group, KINGDOM. In particular, CEO Nam Gung Chan is a veteran producer of the music industry, who was in charge of IU's management at Loen Entertainment with numerous musicians such as Kim Hyun Chul.

Bang Yedam's Past Activities

Bang Yedam was first known in the K-pop scene in 2013 after he won second place in SBS' "K-Pop Star Season 2." At the time, he received rave reviews as "Little Michael Jackson" for his attractive voice and impressive performance.

In 2019, Yedam was selected among the 12 final prospective members for YG Entertainment's new boy group through the audition program, "TREASURE BOX."

The 12-member team officially made their debut in 2020 and has since been loved by fans for their hits, such as "DARARI," "U," and "JIKJIN."

Earlier in November 2022, Bang Yedam shocked fans as he finished his contract with YG Entertainment, which he had been with for a long time, and officially left the group as well for personal reasons.

Along with Mashiho who left TREASURE due to health reasons, Yedam decided to leave to create an environment where he could grow as a producer.
