TWICE Jihyo Reveals Her Mom Cried After Seeing Her as Baby: 'She looks ugly' — But Here's the Plot Twist!

In a vlog, TWICE Jihyo drew laughter after revealing how her parents initially reacted when she was born. Her mother confessed that she even doubted if her baby was switched with someone else's — for the idol's "ugly" look?

On September 6, "JIHYO Album-log "Zyo's Zone.Zip" EP.03" was released on TWICE's official YouTube channel.

In the vlog, Jihyo gathered with her family and introduced her parents and youngest sisters to the viewers. On this day then, the idol was anxious after pulling out a box full of her childhood albums.

"It's my first time to release this much in public."

Selecting her childhood photo album as the first thing to look at, Jihyo was surprised to know that her weight as a newborn baby was 3.5kg.

She asked her mother if it was normal and she said:

"It was a little on the chubbier side, but it was still normal."

After she revealed her baby photo, Jihyo asked her mom to tell the viewers about their reaction after seeing her for the first time.

Her father then said:

"(What did you say?) She was so ugly."

Jihyo's mother explained:

"Since you are my first baby, I thought all babies were born cute, but I was so shocked that you came out looking weird."

Jihyo added that her mother told her she cried when she was born because she was so ugly.

However, a plot twist happened when Jihyo became sick after she was born and her parents were prohibited from seeing her for four days!

Jihyo's mother was surprised after seeing her baby, saying:

"And when I saw you (again), your face had changed so much. All the swelling is gone, that, and they shaved your head only here, I was so shocked so I cried again. But the nurse told me that in her more than 10 years of experience working in the hospital, you were the prettiest baby she's ever seen."

With her sudden change, her mom revealed she initially thought her baby was switched with someone else's child!

"Totally. At first, I thought you weren't my baby. It's crazy, right?"

The idol's father continued:

"We really wondered whether our baby got switched or not."

Such an unserious family!

TWICE Jihyo's Recent Activities

Meanwhile, Jihyo, debuted as a soloist eight years since her debut, wrote history as the first half-million-selling among K-pop female solo artist mini-albums with her debut album, "ZONE."

Following her solo activities, the TWICE leader will also lead the group in part 2 of its 5th world tour, "READY TO BE," and announced the additional stages.

Starting with Singapore on September 2 & 3, the nonet will proceed to its European tour in the same month.

In November, TWICE will go to Australia, while they were also set to visit Indonesia in December.

The tour will continue in Brazil in February 2024.
