From best friends to being co-MAMAMOO members, Hwasa and Wheein both became soloists after leaving RBW. Who became more popular?
Hwasa & Wheein Relationship: From Best Friends To MAMAMOO Members To Soloists
Since middle school, for 15 years now, MAMAMOO Hwasa and Wheein have been best friends.
They met in school before their debut and after deciding to join an RBW audition, they miraculously got in together, became trainees, and debuted in the same K-pop girl group!
Indeed, it's a "friendship goal" to work together and have a support system amid the pressure in music entertainment. Despite challenges, they persevered and rose as one of the top third-gen girl groups, known for their hits "Um Oh Ah Yeh," "Décalcomanie," "You're the Best," and "Starry Night."
Throughout the time, the best friends showed their unbreakable friendship, and even after Wheein left RBW in 2021 after her contract expiration, they proved the phrase, "separate but together" by continuing their group activities and team meet-ups.
What Are Differences Between Hwasa & Wheein? Why They Are Loved by the Public?
Despite showing impressive synergy and chemistry as a team and best friends, Wheein and Hwasa are two completely different entities with strong personalities as soloists.
According to a media outlet, Hwasa, who recently transferred to P-Nation, is a soloist who can be considered as "K-pop's Diva."

Hwasa boasts songs with powerful meanings and challenges unconventional stages that most K-pop idols are afraid to show. Starting in 2018 with "Don't" (feat. Loco), she rocked the music scene with her consecutive hits, "Twit" and "Maria."
"Hwasa's unique powerful voice, sexy voice, and cool high notes have raised the song's completeness, and created a genre that only Hwasa can perform with outfits and choreography that are not afraid of exposure and novelty."
Hwasa is the embodiment of "confidence" that even amid sensationalism accusations, she gracefully responded with a song implying that she loves and embraces her body.
On the flip side, Wheein is the representative of "details" and "fineness." Rather than challenging the norms and stereotypes of society, Wheein built consensus with the public by caressing their emotions.
Her voice was truly versatile, and she is mainly loved for her mournful ballads such as "With My Tears," "Good Bye," and "Shadow," but she is also popular for her fast-beat songs such as "EASY" and "water color."
"Wheein's vocal strengths are her soft and soft tone, stable technique like flowing water, and ability to express emotions that develop a sense of immersion."
She continuously expands her musical spectrum by showing R&B and medium-tempo songs in her new album, "In the mood."
Despite differences, Ilgan Sports highlighted the reason both are loved by the public, saying:
"For both Hwasa and Wheein, their solid skills backed by their 10-year careers and their music style with their own colors are the biggest factors that are loved by the public.
Expectations are high on what kind of artists the two people, who have a good influence on each other and exert synergy, will grow into."
