These issues arose on top of past members T.O.P and Seungri's illicit drug controversies.

Despite this, one BIGBANG remains away from such controversies — who is none other than Taeyang!

On October 28, Vogue Korea's YouTube channel released his recent interview with the male icon, which immediately drew attention for hinting at his secret to maintain a clean image.

As stress and negative thoughts including pressure were often mentioned as idols' reasons why they took illegal drugs, Taeyang shared how he managed all of these.

Regarding stress, the "VIBE" singer said:

"I usually take a lot of walks. I often organize my thoughts while looking at the changing scenery of the seasons and the colorful sky. I think the best way is to also talk, share your thoughts and get comfort from like-minded people."

Taeyang also shared realistic ways on how to deal with negative thoughts, adding:

"No matter how much you try to think positively, I don't think you can stop negative thoughts if they start to spread out.

But if you find the root cause of instilling that negative idea, you can get rid of negative thoughts faster than you think."

In his case, he doesn't feel pressure and slump while working as he always reminds himself to have fun during the process.

Taeyang shared:

"I enjoy the process of what I'm doing. The outcome is important. However, the results are sometimes good and sometimes bad. I think that to work for a long time, I should have more fun in the process of working rather than the consequential part. If I have great satisfaction with the process itself, I think I can do what I like for a long time."

Taeyang Defines Happiness, Self-Esteem, Well-Being

As the interview continued, Taeyang also defined his current happiness and pointed out his "family, album and fans (VIPs).

In light of how he increased his self-esteem:

" think self-esteem definitely starts with the comparison with others. In order to get out of it, I think that self-esteem can increase if you get to know more about your inner self and go toward filling in a better direction while acknowledging what you lack.

The easiest way is to hang out with people with high self-esteem, and I think if you listen to people with high self-esteem and keep them around, your self-esteem will increase faster."

Lastly, he correlated "well-being" and "harmony," saying:

"In a way, I think harmony is both a beautiful appearance and a balanced appearance. In a way, I think that's the most important point in my life. I think harmony is the most important thing in many ways because I think my mind and my body can be kept healthy when those things are done well."
