But some speculated Giselle did the reverse tanning (also known as white tanning), which is a craze in South Korea. This procedure and treatment aims to restore the body's collagen to make the skin lighter.

Contrary to the usual tanning where one uses UV rays to increase melanin production, reverse/white tanning uses infrared light to make the skin fairer.

  • "If she's this white, she probably got white tanning recently."
  • "She got white tanning."
  • "Isn't it due to white tanning?"
  • "She definitely got whitening injections from a dermatologist."

Meanwhile, fans claimed that the change in her skin tone was most likely due to her recent styling and new blonde hair. People also pointed out that the hair color suits Giselle best since it makes her beauty glow.

In addition to this, some fans claimed that it was her natural color, not white tanning, though it was just emphasized due to the change in style and the lighting when the photo was taken.

  • "If you apply sunscreen diligently, it's achievable."
  • "Wow, you're so pretty. Your hair color was perfect."
  • "Hair color seems to play a part, too (why Giselle's skin looks fairer."
  • "It's her natural color. White tanning and whitening injections do not make your skin lighter than the original skin color you had when you were born.
  • "It's white tan, so whitening injections are not as white as the original skin color when you were born. If you're curious, ask a dermatologist who specializes in treatment instead of a dermatologist who specializes in cosmetic procedures. Ask the right doctors to filter out the hype of false advertisement."
  • "If you are born with fair skin, it will come back. Even people who play outdoor sports, such as soccer, who have naturally fair skin, their skin becomes noticeably whiter after a year or two."
  • "This photo just came out brightly. If you look at other photos from the same day, it's not like this. But she wasn't normally tan, as well."
  • "Because of her hair color, it brightened her skin and makeup. There's also a correction in the picture itself + natural light
  • There's a difference in tone with her natural light-toned neck. It's for stage makeup, so there's going to be a big difference in reality."
