On December 22, Sports Seoul revealed the real reason BIGBANG G-Dragon chose Galaxy as his new nest after leaving YG Entertainment.

Based on the report, it was true that the rapper was about to re-sign an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment before releasing his solo album.

Unfortunately, he was caught on suspicion of illegal drug use. At the time, the media asked for YG Entertainment's position on it. But they blatantly cut off connection with GD by commenting that:

"It is difficult to officially respond regarding G-Dragon, as he is not an artist currently affiliated with the company."

In light of this, a YG insider explained:

"YG would not have been able to take the lead in defending G-Dragon because prosecutors are investigating Yang Hyun Suk as well. "

During this troubled time, Galaxy appeared. CEO Choi, who is a year younger than GD, maintained a close friendship with him. Even before the drug case, he was the one who protected the celebrity and gave him legal advice.

Media outlets reported that G-Dragon's disappointment towards YG played a role.

Regardless of this, YG cheered for his future and offered their support and encouragement.

On the following day, a press conference with Galaxy took place in Seocho-gu, Seoul on Tuesday morning.

In lieu of G-Dragon who was absent, the Galaxy read the letter he wrote.

G-Dragon announced in his handwritten letter that he would establish a foundation to combat drug trafficking next year.

G-Dragon also added:

"We will make a comeback (2024) and fulfill both the artist's responsibility and social responsibility."
