In particular, her name became known this year after she opened her personal Instagram in January. K-pop fans noticed that she was being followed by former and current SM Rookies, sparking speculations that she was also a former trainee under the agency.

Gaining attention for her beauty resembling actress Song Hye Kyo, Soojin unwittingly created her solo fandom even prior to her debut when she deleted her Instagram sometime in August.

Although her fans were saddened, they weren't surprised because it was a positive sign that she was finally preparing for her debut as an idol.
