GOT7 Bambam Slams 2024 Seoul Music Awards on X
On January 2, the 2024 Seoul Music Awards were held in Bangkok, Thailand. Bambam, alongside fellow GOT7 member Youngjae, Girls' Generation's Tiffany, and singer-actor Lee Seung Gi, hosted the prestigious award ceremony.

Though the award ceremony featured a star-studded line-up, with performances from NCT Dream, RIIZE, ZEROBASEONE, and more, it appears the event did not go smoothly at all.
Following the event, Bambam took to his personal Twitter account and complained that the event had "the worst sound system in my (Bambam's) life." Youngjae replied to the tweet, saying, "I agree, Bambam hyung."
Popular K-pop columnist for Billboard, Jeff Benjamin, also weighed in on the matter. He noted that the organizer tried to sell the show as a concert rather than a professional award show and recounted that there were too many audio glitches.
It was so bad that fans were confused during soundcheck, and during the event proper, the artists had to endure several stage and sound issues. He likened the event to a "concert from an unprepared event promoter."
Bambam replied to the tweet, claiming the organizers just want to take money from them.
He went so far as to say that he would never attend award shows again.
The organizers of the 2024 Seoul Music Awards have not responded to the backlash.
