Yoo Sang Initially Disapproved of RIIZE Anton's Idol Dream
On January 17, 2024, RIIZE member Anton and his father, veteran singer Yoon Sang, appeared on the 228th episode of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block." During the episode, Yoon Sang revealed he was initially against his son becoming an idol.
He confessed that he wanted his song to grow up normally. Though Yoon Sang has been in the mustic industry since 1987, he claimed debuting as an idol was a completely different path from what he took. He added that he never even imagined his son debuting as an idol. Because of that, when Anton first approached him with his dream of becoming an idol, he was against it.
"At first, I told him not to do it. When he first asked me, as a father, I was against it. But I decided to give it a chance. I wanted my son to grow up like a normal person. I loved music ever since I was young, but becoming an idol was a completely different path, so I never even imagined him debuting."
However, following Anton's debut as a member of RIIZE in September 2023, he revealed his perception has changed. Now, he searches for his son's name online more than his own, showing off his affection. He does his best to catch up on all content that involves his son.
"I try to watch all content without missing anything. I am extremely grateful to the fans who make fancams of my son."
Yoon Sang is One of Korea's Musical Treasures — And Anton is Following His Footsteps
As a singer and songwriter, Sang Yoon has composed several hit songs, including his representative tracks, "Through the Hidden Time," "Shade of Farwell," and "One More Step." He also produced his songs for others, such as Kang Soo Ji's "Purple Scent," S.E.S's "Running," and Lovelyz's "Ah-Choo."
Due to his impressive discography, Yoon sang is known as the "Beethoven of Korean Pop Music." He has also earned the name "The Giving Tree" because every song he writes for others becomes a hit.
Yoo Jae Seok commented that not only does he create famous songs for others, but he even created a famous person: Anton! He joked that because of Anton's popularity, there is a rumor that Yoon Sang has a million daughter-in-laws.

Yoon Sang commented that, as a senior in the music industry, K-pop has changed immensely from the past and has risen beyond his imagination. He hopes that RIIZE can be at the center of K-pop's rapid growth, and he roots for his son's career.
During the program, Anton and his fellow RIIZE members performed their latest song, "Love 119," and their debut track, "Get a Guitar." Yoon Sang was seen watching the group with a father's smile.
